Our Last Farewell
Eulogy

Stars

Frank Victor Rygwalski,
What can I say about the Greatest Man I ever knew?
Just saying his name,
Frank Victor Rygwalski,
seems to say it all.
Daddy was the sun the moon and the stars;
all rolled into one big kind and loving heart.
He was a devoted Husband and Father.
Dad always put his family first.

There wasn't to much we knew about his younger days.
He was quiet about that. He seemed to build his life
around his family and that was enough to fill his life.

Dad was our strength.
The rock we knew we could swim to in
the sea of life, the cornerstone of our existence.
He held us together in good times and bad.

The good times were many and we will cherish them always.
Like waking us up at 2 am to go for a breakfast of
homemade pancakes in the mountains ... or maybe a Sunday
drive to Morrison for Ice Cream Cones or to the broken
cookie store for a bag of cookies that we could all munch
on while driving thru the mountains. One time he even took
us up into the clouds. that was so cool!
I remember telling my friends that my daddy took us up
into the clouds. To a little girl that idolized her Daddy,
that was nothing less then magic.
We made many trips to the Mother Cabrini Shrine.
Later we moved to California and Daddy took us to
Hollywood and the beach and so many other places,
but we came back to Colorado, the place he loved,
and here we spent many hours fishing together,
some of them just on the spur of the moment.
But that was only when we weren't pruning, irrigating,
thinning picking or eating peaches. And then after
retirement we marveled in his creativity to take to a
piece of wood normally used for spanking and turned it
into a beautiful masterpiece of art.
Every time I see your swinging boy in the tree in my front
yard, I will think of you sitting in the garage painting
your lawn ornaments.

Growing up under Daddy's protective arm was such a blessing.
No family was ever greater blessed then ours.
It was a honor to be his wife, sons, daughters and grandchildren.

Your passing into heaven has surely broken our hearts but
the memories made through the years will comfort and
sustain us till we meet again on Heaven's shores.
Unless you really are going to lock the gates of Heaven
behind you and not let us in.
Daddy we will be good and we'll watch over Mom for you.

Stars

"Like a butterfly in flight,
You have graced our lives.

Like the fawn lays it's foot prints,
On the new fallen snow.

You have left your footprints
All over our hearts"
