KING JESUS TO THE RESCUE!

When He heard my cry,
The Lord drew nigh,
And placed His hand on my brow!
Then the billows ceased to roll,
In my troubled soul,
As He whispered, "Peace be still now!

Life's boat was rocking,
And my knees were knocking.
Fear filled my heart.
Troubles and trials,
Had taken away my smiles.
My whole world was falling apart.

But, there on my knees,
I cried, "Lord please,"
"Come to my rescue."
"I'm only a man."
"I've done all I can."
"There's nothing left to do."

Oh, it meant so much,
When I felt His loving touch!
Sweet peace enveloped my soul!
There was no need to frown,
Or to even feel down,
For Jesus had made me whole!

GOD HAS BEEN GOOD TO ME!

God has been so good to me!
He sent His Son to set me free!
His love will never end!
Jesus is my dearest Friend!
Yes, God has been so good to me!

God supplies my every need!
Into green pastures He does lead!
There my hungry soul is fed,
While feasting on the Living Bread!
God supplies my every need!

God always knows what's best for me!
He moves in ways I cannot see!
He cares and understands!
My future is in His hands!
God always knows what's best for me!

Jesus has prepared a place for me,
Somewhere beside the crystal sea!
With friends and loved ones,
Who've gone on before,
I'll walk upon that golden shore!
Oh, God has been so good to me!

WHO WILL BE NEXT?

Lately friends have left us,
Their heavenly reward to gain.
Some have left through tragedy.
Others have left through much pain.
They've left us all behind them.
Some of us are saved. Others are lost.
Friend what will you do with Jesus?
Have you counted the cost?

Old satan's a liar, my brother.
He couldn't tell the truth if he tried.
Many have swallowed his nonsense,
And served him 'til they died.
He'll say that you're too young,
Or too old, too dumb, or maybe too smart,
Not good enough, or you're too good,
To ever give God your heart.

The question has arisen.
Who'll be next? Will it be you or I?
Friend, it's plain as the nose on your face.
You don't have to be old to die.
Satan will tell a young man,
That he's young and in his prime.
That he doesn't need Jesus now,
Maybe some other time.
He'll tell him that he's hearty,
Healthy, handsome, and strong.
But, little does that young man know,
That his time may not be long.
He'll tell him that he has plenty of time,
To call on Jesus' name.
He'll lure him with bright lights,
And a promise of worldly fame.
The devil will say, "You're having too much fun.”
“ Look, you're ridin' high!"
"Eat drink and be merry for tomorrow you might die."

Satan will tell a young mother,
She's much too busy today,
And with all her responsibilities,
She doesn't have time to pray.
Salvation is all right for the "old folks."
That's in her future plans.
But until she reaches their age
She must have all the fun she can.

He will lie to a middle-aged man,
Who's toiling with sweat on his brow.
He'll say he's got too much going for him.
He doesn't need Jesus now.
Religion is for women and kids.
It's not the manly thing to do.
Besides, if you go to that church and pray
Your friends will make fun of you.

He'll whisper to a grandmother in her seventies,
"You're old, wrinkled, and gray."
"You've made it this far without Jesus.”
Why not wait 'til you're dying to pray?"
And all the while time is running out for her.
She's nearing Judgment Day.

Lucifer will tell an older gentleman,
Who has labored and fared quite well,
"Why would a God of love ever send anyone to hell?"
"You have no need of salvation.
"Look what all you have given."
"You're as good as any man.
"You"ll make it into Heaven."

We must not listen to the devil.
We must accept salvation today.
If we wait 'til it comes time to die,
We may not have time to pray.
Oh, who will be next dear loved one?
Will it be you or will it be me?
We can and must be ready to leave here.
Yes, Jesus can set you free!

OUR HEAVENLY FATHER CARES!

God supplies sufficient grace,
For the problems we face,
On a daily basis!
In this dry and barren land,
Just one touch of His hand,
Is a much needed oasis!

While here on earth we trod,
We have an almighty God,
Who promised never to leave us alone!
If we will His Spirit heed,
We can bring our every need,
Confidently before His heavenly throne!

Oh, please tell me if you can,
How God could love fallen man,
Enough to send His Son to die.
'Tis a mystery I want to explore,
Once I reach Heaven's shore,
Yonder in the sweet by and by!

HE’S ALWAYS THERE!

From a mother’s womb,
To an earthly tomb,
And in points along life’s way,
Each time we cry,
God will supply,
Grace for each and every day!

He will quell childish fears,
And in our “Autumn years,”
Though storms of life bombard our soul,
Amidst troubles and trials,
And those strenuous miles,
God is always in control!

Our Heavenly Father above,
Has an undying love!
And He treats us all the same!
Even in our darkest hour,
He will show His power,
If we will just call upon His name!

GOD’S GRACE IS AMAZING!

The young man knelt at the altar again,
To repent of his sin.
Ah yes, he had been there before.
But once again he found,
That where sin does abound,
Grace abounds much more!
For did not Jesus say,
That in one day,
We must forgive seventy times seven?
So, if we honestly confess,
Can we expect any less,
From our loving Father in Heaven?

Friend, God does not sin condone.
But Christ’s blood will still atone,
If we will only believe!
In God’s word I have read,
Where Jesus said,
If we ask we shall receive!
It is marvelous to know,
That Calvary’s crimson flow,
Will all our sins erase!
I know what I’m writing about,
So, with joy I can shout,
“Thank God for His amazing grace!”

Did I Make A Difference?

Friend, when we met along life’s way,
Did I “touch” you with something I did,
Or had to say?
Did I resemble the Man of Galilee,
Or when you looked did you see only me?
Did I have pity on the poor,
And lend to the Lord,
Or did I see,
How much goods I could horde?

Did I guide the blind man,
Who was going astray,
Or did I wish he would hurry,
And get out of my way?
Did I stretch forth my hand,
The hungry to feed,
Or were my eyes full
of covetness and greed?

Did I visit the sick,
In the hospital and nursing home,
Or did I leave them lying there,
Forsaken, sad, and alone?
Did I visit those in prison,
With compassion in my heart,
Or was I much too busy,
The “Good News” to impart?
Did I tell them how Jesus,
Could set them free,
Or was I just involved,
With just doing things for me?

Did I stand with my Brother,
When nothing was going right,
Or did I turn my back saying,
“It’s really not my fight?”
Did my life reflect the changes made,
When Jesus came into my heart,
Or did I “mimic” the world so much,
That you couldn’t tell us apart?
Did I have a kind word to say,
To those I met,
Or was my attitude so “bland”,
That I’d be easy to forget?

Did I leave a good impression,
On those I met each day?
Lord, when my time comes to go,
Will they miss me in any way?
When I stand before the Lord,
Who will judge the quick,
And the dead,
I’ll be justly tried for my deeds,
And the idle words I’ve said.
So help me Lord to watch and pray,
And long for you to appear,
For I can tell,
By the “signs of the times”,
That Your coming is near!
