Being born again
transformed me into someone who really
didn't exist before. When I
recommitted my life to Christ, after
being far away from Him for many years,
I was ready to be that new person.
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ,
he is a new creation; the old has gone,
the new has come! All this is from
God, who reconciled us to himself
through Christ and gave us the ministry
of reconciliation:" (2 Corinthians
5:17-18) Our God is so merciful
and good, giving us all the resources we
need to be reconciled to Him.
Understanding our true identity in
Christ is absolutely necessary to living
a successful Christian life. When
I see myself as God's child I begin to
live in victory and freedom. Through
every step of our transformation
we can know without a doubt that one day
we will be complete in Him.
"And I am convinced and sure of
this very thing, that He Who began a
good work in you will continue until the
day of Jesus Christ [right up to the
time of His return], developing [that
good work] and perfecting and bringing
it to full completion in you."
(Philippians 1:6 AMP) When I put
me where the Scriptures say you, it
gives me more meaning to the words.
Next to the knowledge of Him, a
knowledge of who we are in Him is by far
one of the most important truths we can
possess. We can definitely take our
stand as a child of God in Christ.
"And Mary said, My soul magnifies
and extols the Lord, And my spirit
rejoices in God my Savior, For He has
looked upon the low station and
humiliation of His handmaiden. For
behold, from now on all generations [of
all ages] will call me blessed and
declare me happy and to be envied!
For He Who is almighty has done great
things for me--and holy is His name [to
be venerated in His purity, majesty and
glory]! (Luke 1:46-49 AMP) When I think
of God's unconditional love and saving
grace I also lift up my life in praise
to His glory.
Sometime ago I started reading
"Holy Bible Woman Thou Art Loosed
Edition" by T. D. Jakes and my eye
caught the phrase "You are
somebody." "So God
created man in His own image, in the
image and likeness of God He created
him; male and female He created
them." (Genesis 1:27 AMP) He
created us in His own image. Think
about that. Don't you feel that you are
some-body? He not only created us but He
says "And have clothed yourselves
with the new [spiritual self], which is
[ever in the process of being] renewed
and remolded into [fuller and more
perfect knowledge upon] knowledge after
the image (the likeness) of Him Who
created
it."
(Colossians 3:10 AMP)
So my dear friends, open your hearts to
Gods unfailing love for you no matter
who you are or who you think you are.
You are a child of God, created in His
image and you will be trans-formed into
that "new creation" that God
wants you to be.
"Let the word of Christ dwell in
you richly in all wisdom..."
(Colossians 3:16)
Lovingly in Him
