 God’s Miracles

When I think of God’s Miracles, I think about the miracles He has performed in my life. As I look back over my past, I know without a doubt that God has been working for me not against me. (Romans 8:31) I think that like David in Psalm 77:11-12, I, too will remember the deeds of the LORD; yes, I will remember His miracles of long ago. I will meditate on all of His works and consider all of His mighty deeds.

Of course, we know of the many miracles that God has performed in the lives of His people of old and maybe you know of miracles that have happened to you or your loved ones.

I like to remember what Jesus said when He denounced the cities in which most of His miracles had been performed: "….because they did not repent. "Woe to you, Korazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! If the miracles that were performed in you had been performed in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes. But I tell you, it will be more bearable for Tyre and Sidon on the day of judgment than for you. And you, Capernaum, will you be lifted up to the skies? No, you will go down to the depths. If the miracles that were performed in you had been performed in Sodom, it would have remained to this day. But I tell you that it will be more bearable for Sodom on the day of judgment than for you.." (Matthew 11:20-24)

Are you like some men who did not believe in the miracles that Jesus performed in the Father’s name? "Jesus answered, "I did tell you, but you do not believe. The miracles I do in my Father's name speak for me, but you do not believe because you are not my sheep." (John 10:25-26) Can you honestly say that you are one of His sheep?

Does God give you His Spirit and work miracles among you because you observe the law, or because you believe what you heard? (Galatians 3:5) We can be sure of the Holy Spirit’s presence when we begin to change. Knowing God and having an intimate relationship with Him enables me to know His will and follow it.

I believe that God works miracles through us. "God did extraordinary miracles through Paul," (Acts 19:11) We need God’s power to work in our life. No other power can help us overcome our destructive habits and sustain us through the trials and temptations we encounter.

Believe Jesus when He says that He is in the Father and the Father is in Him; or at least believe on the evidence of the miracles themselves. I believe that anyone who has faith in Jesus will do what He has been doing. You can do great things. Faith in Jesus is the only way to truly know God and receive what He has for you. Genuine faith is personal and relational. "Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."           (John 14:6) Believe in Jesus, believe in God’s miracles.
