God’s Rest

As I was praying this morning I thanked God for His rest
Whatever He wants to give to me is always for my best.
He not only gives me rest but He refreshes me as well,
He restores me, revives me, and His Spirit does indwell.

Jesus said, "Come to Me, I will ease and relieve your soul."
When I fail to do this very thing it surely takes a toll.
I take His yoke upon me and learn from Him, you see
For He is gentle and humble in heart, that’s the only key.

When I come into His presence, I drink deeply of His grace,
And all the rest He gives to me helps me to finish the race.
I will be at rest once more, my Lord, You have been so kind,
For You are all I will ever want, no other love will I find.

I bow before throne of God, and thank Him for His love
Knowing all too well that these gifts come from up above.

God’s Rest

|
This morning as I was praying I thanked God for the rest He had given to me the past
night but then I had to amend that prayer and thank Him for the rest He gives to me
daily.
He not only gives me rest but He refreshes, revives, restores and refills me.
Jesus said "Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy-laden and overburdened,
and I will cause you to rest. [I will ease and relieve and refresh your
souls.]"
Matthew
11:28
"Come to Me…" All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever
comes to me I will never drive away. (John 6:37) But what are we to do when to come
to Him?
He says that we are to come to Him to receive.
When you ask and ask and do
not receive do you get frustrated?
I know that I do but then I
remember that Jesus
wants me to have JOY.
"Be at rest once more, O my soul, for the LORD has been good to you." (Psalm 116:7).
Jesus has already paid the price. The New Covenant is
according to grace.
It is based on God’s goodness and the work that Jesus has already
accomplished, not on my merit or works.
I want to receive what Jesus is pouring out
don’t you?
So yes, when I come into His presence I drink of His forgiveness, His love,
His mercy and grace.
He also says "Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble
in heart, and you will find rest for your souls." (Matthew 11:29) Everything we need is
available to start receiving.
So, enter into His rest and receive what has already been
poured out so that you will be rested, refreshed, revived, restored and refilled.
But remember "Therefore, since the promise of entering his rest still stands, let us be
careful that none of you be found to have fallen short of it." (Hebrews 4:1)
