SEASONS OF MY LIFE

There is a time for every purpose, to everything thing there is a season.
And because I believe in a loving God, I know there must be a good reason.
As I look back over my life I plainly see there are seasons in my life, as well.

God has perfect plans for each and everyone and here are mine to tell.
As I begin new projects I look to God so I can see the future in my life.
I’m assured that God is interested in me and there will be little or no strife.

In the Summer I work diligently on all that God has assigned to me.
During the Autumn I can harvest the things from earlier times, you see.
Sometimes Winter brings hardship and struggles, but this I truly know,

God brings these things and gives me strength so that spiritually I'll grow.
And finally there's another Springtime with fruitfulness and much joy.
It's a time to see what God had planned, each day is like a new toy.

With all of this He gives me grace to overcome the cold winters of sorrow.
And I will always remember that with God there will be no tomorrow.
These seasons may span many years and even when I am old and gray,

God will always love me and I will continue to see His blessings everyday.
He is such a merciful and loving God, even giving me times of quiet and rest.
Without a doubt eternal life with my Lord Jesus will always be the best.

Life’s Seasons

As I was going through one of my journals I came across this verse and my prayer to God, the Father, praising Him and thanking Him for each season. I think that we all need to do this. Even though there are four distinct seasons every year, our seasons may span many years and I have found that even when you are old and gray "To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven." (Ecclesiastes 3:1) I just love this verse because as I look back over my life I can see the various seasons I have gone through. I can see how God designed the four seasons, each one distinct yet they work together to bring life and growth. Each season makes its own contribution to our lives. I love Spring the most because it is a period of freshness and new life. During the Summer I see growth and productivity and Autumn, don’t you see it is a time for harvesting the rewards of past labors. Winter is the season of dormancy and closure.

But just as God planned seasons in nature, He planned seasons in our lives as well. When I begin new projects and look excitedly toward the future, I see Springtime in my life. When Summer comes I work diligently on all that God has assigned to me. During the Autumn of my life I can harvest the things from am earlier time in my life. Sometimes Winter brings hardship and struggles, but we all have those so that we can grow strong in Christ. "Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds," (James 1:2) Then we can be hopeful because another Spring is just around the corner.

God certainly has a perfect plan for our lives. He plans for times of fruitfulness and activity. He gives us times of quiet and rest. There are times when we continue to do the same thing over and over but we do remain faithful because He is. Then there are times of excitement and new beginnings. We need to be mindful of when these come into our lives. He gives us seasons of harvesting the fruit of our faithfulness. With all of this He gives us grace to overcome the cold winters of heartache and grief. But remember this, that without Winter, there will be no Spring.
