He Has A Place Prepared for You
|
And when (if) I go and make ready a place for you, I will come back again and will take you to Myself, that where I am you may be also. (John 14:3) Joy of all joys, we not only have been given purpose and power for living the supernatural, abundant life – by the indwelling Holy Spirit – but we have also been promised a place in God’s presence when this life is over. And we will then be able to worship Him face to face throughout the endless ages of eternity.
I do not know exactly what heaven will be like, do you? But I do know who will be there –our Lord Jesus Christ Himself. Didn’t He promise that in the verse above? And He does keep His promises. That assurance and anticipation motivates me to live the kind life that burdens my heart and concerns me about the needs of others, moment by moment, day by day.
Maybe we need to begin today to meditate on the glory and beauty of our heavenly Father and our eternal home where we will worship and have fellowship with our Lord. Today we need to reach out to our loved ones, friends and strangers alike to want this for themselves. No one is able to come to Me unless the Father Who sent Me attracts and draws him and gives him the desire to come to Me, and [then] I will raise him up [from the dead] at the last day. (John 6:44)
He tells us in John 14:18 that He will not leave us as orphans but that He will come to us. "Whoever has my commands and obeys them, he is the one who loves me. He who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love him and show myself to him." (John 14:21)
We need to continually encourage each other with His promises. In
1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 we are told that " the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever." I don’t know about you, but I’m excited and I want to share all of this with everyone. By Carole Kerr 11/19/02
Lovingly in Christ,
