What Not To Do When Your World Shatters

It is so easy to fall to pieces when your life shatters. But there is a way that you can keep it together.

First of all, you must cling to your faith.  Cling to it despite not having any support.  Cling to it despite not having any answers.

Proverbs 21:30
"There is no wisdom, no insight, no plan that can succeed against the LORD."

You can turn negatives into positives and know that the Lord is with you.  Hebrews 13:5-6 ."Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you." So we say with confidence, "The Lord is my helper;  I will not be afraid.  What can man do to me?"  Also Paul says in Romans 8:31 "What, then, shall we say in response to this?  If God is for us, who can be against us?"

Don't let circumstances get the best of you.  Remember Joseph.  He was betrayed by Potiphar's wife and his brothers.  But his philosophy was "I don't have the power to stop the hurt, but I do have the power to shape my response.

Don't let success go to your head.  Keep your faith and integrity and things will turn out right. God will deliver you. 2 Timothy 2:22 "Flee the evil desires of youth, and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart."   Solomon advises Proverbs 4:23  "Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life."  This is one of my favorite verses.

Finally, keep your humanity.  Matthew 5:7  "Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy."

So when your world shatters, you have a choice.  Make the right one.

To God be the Glory, great things He has done.

Lovingly in Christ,
Carole
