Mark 12:30 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.'

I don't know about you, but I am so very thankful that God wants all of my love and does not want to share it with the little "gods" of this world.  "For the LORD your God is a consuming fire, a jealous God." (Deuteronomy 4:24). He calls us to live a holy life and I know that this means that my love must be purely set on things of God, I must not be focused on the things of this world.  "Can both fresh water and salt water flow from the same spring?  My brothers, can a fig tree bear olives, or a grapevine bear figs?  Neither can a salt spring produce fresh water. (James 3:11-12)

Do you try to walk on both sides of the fence? Do you maintain your "Godly" activities along side of you "ungodly" activities?  These are important questions. We need to thank God for giving us the Holy Spirit as our "Great Purifier ' who will listen to us very carefully.  He will "guide you into all truth.  He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come." (John 16:13)   If we are obedient to His leading; He will strain, sift, distill, and refine until all that remains is the fresh and the pure.  We must "not love the world or anything in the world.  If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him." (1 John 2:15)

Pray this prayer with me: Thank You, dear Jesus, for making me into a new vessel and asking me to fill this vessel with what is pure and holy.  I commit every area of my life to You, God, and will try to always maintain a vessel of purity.

To God be the Glory, great things He has done
Lovingly in Christ,

"The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in Him...
My heart leaps for joy and I will give thanks to Him in song"       (Psalm 28:7)

Abba Father, we do want to do Your will. We want to please You, glorify You, and lead others to You.  Give us spiritual discernment to know Your will and spiritual courage to do it today.  We want Your character and righteousness to inform our hearts when we are tempted not to live for You.  Gently humble us when we are wrong or have lost our way.

Dear God, thank You that You look beyond our outer appearance and see the value of our soul and spirit and have a wonderful plan for our lives.  We come to You today and surrender our hearts and lives to You.  Please make something beautiful out of our lives. Thank You for hearing and answering our prayer.

You are a Holy and righteous God, heavenly Father, so we ask You to please lead us to a deeper relationship with You.  We want to know more about You.  We also want to know You -- Your passion, Your holiness, Your might, Your wisdom, and Your grace.  Please reveal more of Yourself to us in our daily walk with You.

We come into Your presence with thankful hearts, praising You for all that You have done.  You see each tear, You hear the cries, and their pain and brokenness is constantly before You.  We ask You today to wrap Your arms of love around each broken heart, and crushed spirit.  We come before You praising Your name. You are our comfort, our joy and our hope that tomorrow will be better, and joy will once again return to our lives. You are true love.

Grant that we may know the love of Christ, a love which surpasses knowledge, that we may be filled with the fullness which is Yours.

Father, God of all creation and LORD of the universe and history, thank You for hearing our prayers, knowing our hearts, and bidding us come to You as Your children.  We know that You provide this grace to me at the cost of Jesus' leaving heaven and coming to earth to die for us.  We pray that our lives will be a fitting tribute and praise for all that You have done for us. Help us to see and understand our spiritual need and our need to be and stay connected to You.  If we have never accepted You as our Savior, please help us to do that today.

Now to You, our God, who by the power at work within Your people is able to do far more abundantly than all we can ask or even imagine - to You be glory in the congregation of Your holy people and in Christ Jesus to all generations, for ever and ever. In the name of Jesus Christ we honor You and ask these blessings from Your hand.

Lovingly in Christ,
Carole
