Words
What we can do with our words. What power we have in our words. We
can say "I love you" and make someone feel good and deserving of love,
which we all are. We can say "good job" and make someone feel proud.
We can say bad things about people to others and hurt them and tear
them up. We can say "you are stupid" and make someone feel ashamed
and small. And the worst part of it is that once you say something
you can NOT ever unsay them! you can say "I'm sorry" or "I didn't
mean it" but the person still head the words and they are forever
in their brain.
We can use our words to teach of good and love or
hate and anger. It is hard sometimes but so important that we think
long and hard before we say something that may hurt someone. If you
will always stop and give yourself time to calm down and pray about
it, you will be much more able to say the right thing. The thing that
you will feel good about it. Because when we hurt others we always
hurt yourself. Let's start using our words today to make people feel
good and teach them. Let the ones you love know you love them and
pray for the ones you don't. So much power in our words and sometimes
we give it such little thought. Stop and think what do you like to
hear from others? How does it make you feel when they say those
things? And what would Jesus have you say? If you are unsure what
you say or if you say something then wait you will find the right
words. Be loving with your words and soft with them. Tell someone
how wonderful they are today and see how wonderful that makes you
both feel! Have a wonderful day.
With love,
Kim
THE POWER OF WORDS
Words have far greater power Than this world will ever know, For they
can heal the broken-hearted And cause the small and weak to grow.
They give hope to the tired and discouraged, When said with a warm,
loving smile, And they can strengthen the step of the weary As they
travel that last rugged mile. Yes, words can lift up the spirits Of
those who are bowed with despair, For words can fill them with
courage, Because they show them how much you care. Gentle words
spoken at just the right time Can soften a cold, hardened heart, And
in the dark times of doubt and of fear, Strength, joy and peace they
impart. So think carefully about each word that you speak, And how
somebody may be affected, For words can also kill and destroy, If by
love they have not been perfected. So speak only words that encourage
And cause others in God's love to grow Yes, speak only words of
hope and of life So the power of God's love will show.
