Homeland Security

Through time there have been soldiers -
no uniform they wore.
They stayed here on the home front,
protecting the homeland shore.

While their husbands went to battle
and for their loved ones longed,
The wives stepped bravely forward
to keep their family strong.

The wife became both Mom and Dad.
Their own battle they had to face,
Commanding their small regiment
through God’s amazing grace.

A purple heart will never be given
to these soldiers so brave and sure,
But in their heart of gold they know
they have kept the homeland secure.
