Greetings in the Lord!

My background

My name is Elaine Yap Lichyng, a Chinese by race and a Malaysian citizen. I’m the eldest amongst two siblings--i.e. one sister after me and one youngest brother. I was educated in Malaysia until I got my diploma in Business Management. I completed my Bachelor Degree in 1998, majoring in Management & Human Resources Management in Brisbane, Australia at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT).

My testimony

I was born to a non-Christian family. My dad was the first person to accept Christ into his heart when we moved into the city of Kuala Lumpur. Since then, my dad brought the whole family to a Full Gospel Church. There I was exposed to the gospel of Jesus Christ for the first time. I received Christ when I was 10 years of age during a children's camp and at the same time filled with the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues. I was baptized at 15, if I remember correctly.

Life was like a roller coaster. I began to drift away from God slowly until I went to Australia. I was afflicted with a strange disease and that was when I came to realization that I needed to go back to God. God healed me.  After this incident, for the first time in my life I served God in church and it changed my life. I love singing and I’m currently serving in the worship/music ministry in my church. It’s a real joy serving the Lord in this area and seeing people worshiping the Lord in spirit and in truth. I still have my mountains and valleys in life and God is still molding me to be the woman He wants me to be.

That's a brief testimony of how I came to know the Lord.
