I CHOOSE...
It's quiet. It's early. My herbal tea is hot. 
The sky is still black. The world is still 
asleep. In a few moments the day will arrive.  
The stillness of the dawn will be exchanged 
for the noise of the day.  The refuge of the 
early morning will be invaded by decisions 
to be made and deadlines to be met. For the 
next twelve hours I will be exposed to the 
day's demands. It is now that I must make 
a choice. 
AND SO I CHOOSE:

JANUARY 1st
I CHOOSE LOVE...
No problem is so large that enough love 
can't solve it. No occasion justifies 
hatred; no injustice warrants bitterness.
 
Love is it's own reward, and always 
the right answer.  Today I will love God and 
the things God loves.

JANUARY 2nd
I CHOOSE JOY...
I will invite my God to be the God of my 
circumstances.
 
I will refuse the temptation to be cynical... 
a tool of the lazy thinker.

JANUARY 3rd
I CHOOSE PEACE...
I will forgive so that I may live. I 
will live forgiven. I will remember 
that anger is a choice I can avoid.
I will give my problems prayerfully 
to God as they arise. I will trust 
that He loves me and that He is my savior.

JANUARY 4th
I CHOOSE PATIENCE...
I will overlook the inconveniences of the 
world. Rather than complaining that the 
wait is too long, I will thank God for a 
moment to pray.  
Instead of clenching my fist at my assignments, 
I will face them as a new chance to learn 
patience.

JANUARY 5th
I CHOOSE KINDNESS...
I will be kind to the poor, for they are 
alone, kind to the rich, for they are 
afraid and selfish, and kind to the unkind, 
for so has God treated me.
I will temper my truth with tact and necessity.

JANUARY 6th
I CHOOSE GOODNESS...
I will go without a dollar before I take 
another's. I will see the good in others 
when it is hard to find. 
I will confess before I accuse, and take 
the log out of my own eye, before removing 
my brother's speck.

JANUARY 7th
I CHOOSE FAITHFULNESS...
Today I will keep my promises. So my 
debtors will not have to regret trusting 
me.  So my associates will not need to 
question my word.  So my mate 
will not have to question my love.  
And my children will never have 
to fear that I will not come home.

JANUARY 8th
I CHOOSE GENTLENESS...
Nothing is won by force or coercion. 
If I raise my voice, may it be only 
in praise or laughter. If I clench my 
fist, may it be only in prayer. 
If I make a demand, may it be only 
of myself.

JANUARY 9th
I CHOOSE SELF-CONTROL...
I am a spiritual being. After this body 
is dead, my spirit will soar. I refuse to 
let this body that will rot, rule my eternal 
destiny.
 
Instead, I will speak and act based upon 
thoughtful decisions I make, considering 
my obedience to and love for God.

JANUARY 10th
I Choose Better Sight...
I will refuse to see people as anything 
less than creations of God.  God's love
is equal for each one of us.
May I see others through God's eyes.

JANUARY 11th
I Choose Trust...
You, Lord, are so able to handle my every 
circumstance.  I choose to rely on, and trust
in YOU for everything.

I choose to Forgive...
By a choice of my will, I choose a path of 
forgiveness.  May I be as willing to forgive 
others, as Jesus is willing to forgive me.

I choose right....
I will decide right now, that whatever 
choices are presented to me today, I will 
 make the Godly Choice.  I will choose 
loving words instead of spiteful words...I 
will choose Godly thoughts and Godly actions.
I rely on God's strength, to make it so.

I choose Worship...
Whether rain or shine, happy or sad,  I choose
to worship God in all that I do.  To worship 
the one, who by his sacrifice, made my 
eternity sure.
Because He lives, I can face tomorrow.

I choose to accept my 
God-given Responsibilities...
I know that you, LORD, have a divine plan
for my life.  I know that the tasks, chores
and responsibilities that I face today, fit 
into your plans for me.
And so,  I embrace the responsibilities that 
you have given me!  I praise you for another 
day to serve you, and another day to 
serve others!

I choose Obedience...
I see that your statutes and precepts are 
faithfulness and truth.  Your ways are so 
much higher than mine.  Help me walk in

I choose Christ's Government...
Lord, I desire YOUR rule in my life.  
There is no area of my being that I 
want kept from YOU.  Please work at 
removing anything that does not fit 
into Your Kingdom.
 
Let YOUR righteous rule extend over 
my mind, my emotions, my will and 
my conscience.

Lord, bitterness still tries to come over 
me at times. I see it as an evil thing that 
undermines your peace.  I renounce its hold 
in me.  I claim the release that comes out 
of the power of Your Kingdom.

I choose humility...
Dear Lord, my inclination toward being proud 
runs deep.  Oh, search it out!  I want to be 
proud of YOU, and YOU only.  
I have no other cause for pride.  If I glory, 
may it be because the SON has set me free.
