There is a thing called brotherly love
in a land so far away
The men have no family there, no, not one
but this is what they say
We're here to defend Old Glory
and to liberate Iraq
So, Soldier, while I'm watching you
You must watch my back
I will be right here beside you
I will be your confidant
I will give you brotherly love
I'll give you confidence
Confidence in how you're doing
In a war so far from home
And I will be here to console you
when things all go wrong.
As you lay on the cold sands, bleeding
Please... let me take your hand
I will dry your tears and pray for you
Like a brother would in this wretched land
I will pray for you when you need me
beside you to say a prayer
And I will give to you a brotherly hug
I will love you while you're here
For you see we need each other, Soldier
While we are so far away from home
I am sure God created brotherly love
For those who feel alone
With no family here to greet them
at the end of a trying day
to give a smile or a pat on the back
to help you on your way
So remember your color or creed,
It matters not at all
You are my brother, Soldier
and brotherly love, is here for all.

Thank you Sis, for allowing me
to share your beautiful poem.
Please remember no matter what
your political views. These men and women are
someone's son, daughter, brother, sister,
husband, wife, Father or Mother.
They need our prayers and our support.
Please remember them in your daily prayers.
Father
there are many things that we cannot understand.
Reveal to us what is necessary for us to know.
You said in the gospel, that if anyone would
do your will, they should know of the doctrine.
Help us to live so that we may have the knowledge
that is needful for us here.
Help us to follow in the footsteps of your most
holy son, Jesus, and not be troubled about questions
of belief. Let our daily life show that we have faith
in you, because we know that in your kingdom, all
mysteries will be made clear to us.
Please grant us the light to walk by you,
and the Holy Sprit to lead us into all truth.
We ask in Jesus name.
Amen.
