The Miracle

Just thinking about all the flowers of Spring,
How they come unannounced, and the joy that they bring.
First come the crocuses peeping through snow.
Then we see yellow forsythias grow.

Daffodills wave, and they bravely proclaim..
"Here it is...Springtime...our beauty will reign!"
Jonquils stand by them in their quiet way.
"My beauty is softer", they seem to say.

What is more fragrant than hyacinth now?
Pink blue or yellow, they speak of just how...
Spring is upon us, it fills up our senses.
There's love all around us, there are no defenses..

A burst of bright color, it happens at once.
And here are the tulips, just one, or a bunch.
They stand up like soldiers, so perfect and tall.
Our wonderful Father created them all!

Violets come quietly, spreading and growing,
With Dandelions mixing their colors just glowing.
Then lilacs and lilies of valley appear,
Dogwood and blossoms of fruit trees all here.

Pansies return from the ground that was cold.
And roses appear...They don't have to be told.
Their perfume surrounds us, through showering skies.
I try to just gather it all in....Oh my!

My cup overflows, there is no time for gloom.
And I find myself humming some sweet simple tune.
Creation just happens, I'm just filled with awe!
And Spring is the miracle, wonder from God!

A January Dandelion

A little bit of gold appeared,
in our front yard today.
I picked it, for a weather change
is passing through our way.

It's January thirteenth,
and the temperature is seventy.
The year two-thousand five and now,
the sun and shine is heavenly.

We know that by tomorrow,
it will plummet, rain and snow.
So I'll protect this dandelion,
where else could it go?

Father, when I'm lost,
alone, may I still bloom and shine,
knowing Your protective arms,
encircle me and mine..

Will you pick me up dear Lord,
and keep me in your care?
Will you keep me near to you,
the answer to my prayer?

So like this little dandelion,
I'll trust you day by day.
For I believe your loving care
is never far away.
