I WANT TO DO MY PART

Father, I sit and wonder why
So many are in grief and pain
The suffering we must all go through
Yet the wonderful part is the gain.

I know so many before us
Have gone through so much more
I know they are with you now
Leaving here, You opened the door.

They are all in your presence
And perfect bodies they did receive
Their trials here on earth, Lord
The pain and worry relieved.

It's such a relief to know You are there
And this world we will leave behind
And gloryland, with the angels singing
And a wonderful life there so sublime

I want to make you proud of me
Make my life here worth the time
So many out there refusing to learn
To the Word they do seem blind.

So Father, with each passing day
Keep my footsteps in their place
And let me help someone along their way
To learn of your redeeming Grace.

And if I falter, and if I fail
Then make me try again, Father
Give me inner strength to carry on
To spread Your words much farther.

I want some day to leave this earth
Feeling as if I have done my part
To bring my loved ones and my friends
To know and love Jesus in their heart.
