DRAW ASIDE I’ve drawn aside from the busy, hustling, bustling freeway of life. Far away I’ve run from the constant pulling and tugging of daily strife. I’ve now entered my private hiding place, where only my mind can abide I am alone at last with Jesus, huddling closely to His side Ah, now I’ve escaped even deeper into the serenity of the glen. There to pause where a gentle river flows, reflecting on Him again. I listen to the sound of dry leaves crackling beneath my shuffling feet. As I turn towards home, my spirit’s calmed, triumphant over defeat. Draw aside now, my precious one, from worldly woes and pause with me in the place where the absence of worry ushers in peace and placidity. Hear the mysteriously soft and gentle call of God’s glorious creation, then relinquish your heart and sing to Him anthems of reverent adoration. Dorothea K.
