Hush for Day is O're

Hush, for now the day is o're
Time to rest and sleep
Time to pray, give thanks to God
Pray for the sick and weak

For all is now a quiet time
And chores of day are o'er
We say our prayers and go to sleep
Now that the day is o'er.

We're thankful for the food God gives
And for the birds that sing
We're thankful for the skies so blue
And for the precious rain

We're thankful for the mountains
And the valley down below
For it is in the valley
That our spirit seems to grow

God gives to us the Book of Life
To teach us how to live
So we must ne'er forget
It was His great gift

He gave unto the world that day
In Bethlehem beneath the stars
And if we only believe in His only Son
The gift of eternal life is ours

He is always right beside us
He is never far away
Yes, our gentle, loving Saviour
Is just a prayer away

Lord

You are life to all that lives.
It is You that I long for.
I thank You for each and every
blessing and comfort in my life,
but they can't take Your place in
my heart. Wake me up, give me
wisdom and understanding so that
on that glorious day, I will be
alert and listening for Your call.
I wait with hope and anticipation
for the day, when I hear the beautiful
sound of that trumpet, and see Your
face as You come to take me home.
