THE HOUSE MY DAD BUILT

A story and a half built of logs
That were hewn all four sides,
Strong, sturdy and heavy too
With plenty of room inside.

The logs were long and hewn smooth,
Acquired from off the farm
And laid secure in every way
To make the building warm.

Of those who would dwell inside
Were my Dad's thoughts while building it
And none my Dad did hide.

That stayed so very white,
To keep it clean as clean could be
Was always my Mom's delight.

And hung at either end
So clean fresh air could pass right through
And greet our many friends.

And floored both smooth and tight
Where beds were placed so neat and clean
They served us well at night.

I am not ashamed you know...
For it was built by one I love
So many years ago.

Father,

I commit my day to You Lord. I place my trust in
Your provision, for every aspect of my life.

No matter what the day holds or how things may appear,
I am certain I can depend on Your love and faithfulness.
Direct my steps. Allow faith in You to rule in my heart
and life today. As sure as I know the sun will rise
tomorrow, I know You are always with me and I am never
alone. Let my life reflect the joy You have given me
within, in Jesus name, I pray.

Amen.
