Dedication to My Brother
Boyd Allen Jordan
"Buck"

It's been almost a year since
you took your journey home.
On August 29, 2002,
it was your 49th birthday
we miss you so much
but you were resting high.
on that mountain.

God knew you were tired, as you
were born with a hole in your heart.
He also knew that you didn't want to
have the surgery if you weren't going to
live through it. You prayed to Him each
night before you went to bed and He
has answered your prayers.

I remember so well what you told me
on Christmas Eve night at Mamma and Daddy's.
You got out of your truck and gave me the
biggest hug you ever gave me.
You said, "Rhonda, did Mamma tell you that
I have to go into surgery after the 1st of
the year for my heart?"

I told you that God would take care of you.
I knew that you were saved and believe that.
But you told me that God would answer your prayers.
God took you Home two days after Christmas,
a day I will never forget, but I know now you
have a new heart, brand new suit of clothes
and safetly in the arms of God.

I try hard to remember
things that I can and
things that Momma has told
me about our childhood.
As a child I remember
Momma telling us
Debra got mad with you
for you were riding her
tricycle on the porch.
You wouldn't let her have
it so she pushed you off the porch.
You were only two years old then but
Momma remembers it like
it was yesterday.

Then when you were three years old
our granddaddy past away.
I wasn't born yet, but I remember
you told me that Mr. Gowdy
was our granddaddy.
Now this was hard for me
to figure out, since Momma
was a Weaver and Daddy was a Jordan. lol
But you explained it all so well
you sat me down and said to me,
"When I was 3 yrs old, granddaddy
went to Heaven, so I ask Mr. Gowdy
to be our granddaddy since
we didn't have one." So from then
on he was granddaddy but it was funny
to me because his wife wasn't grandmama
She was Mrs. Lucille...lol

Then when you started to school
you were such a little fellow.
You only weighed 27 lbs.
but the girls in the neighborhood
would fight over who was
taking you to school.
You must have been really cute
back then so I have added your picture
when you were in the first grade.
for everyone to see how handsome you were.

This is a picture of Buck & Brenda
on their wedding day,a very happy day for them.

Buck was God's gift to
Walter and Janice Jordan
on August 29, 1953.
As parents they knew at anytime
that God could take Buck home.
Buck had an older sister, Debra,
and three younger siblings,
Harry, Rhonda and Mallory.
We were bless with him for 48 years.

Buck was married to a wonderful woman, Brenda.
He had four daughters and one son.
Ginger, Wendy, Allen, Donna, and Tammy.
He also was blessed with thirteen grandchildren.
Heather, Suzy, London, Brittany,
Sean, Austin, Kristen, Cade,
Tammy, Travis, Terry, Jessica and Amber.

There are no words to express
how much we love you and miss you.
But one day I will see you again
for I know you will be waiting
at the Eastern Gate for me.
With Love, Your Sister, Rhonda

My Brother

I lost my friend part of me,
for he was my brother you see.
God took him home and this I do
know oh but I feel so alone.
You were always there for me my friend
and thought you would be until the end.

I know you are warm and safe
looking up into Jesus face,
in tender loving care
and someday brother I will be there.

And then again I will see your smiling face
but, right now I have a place
it's here in my heart
where you'll always be a part
of everything I see and do
wish my brother somehow you knew.

You were a light so bright for all to see,
always standing right beside me.
You are not gone just visiting Jesus who loves and cares
and someday brother I will be there.

I will think of you each day
and when people ask will say
he is resting and waiting for me,
and then again together we will be.
I love you!

A Special Brother

When I reflect on joyous times,
My thoughts find a way to you.
Memories bring to me a smile,
Even though I miss you too.

I think of your bravery and valor
In all things you did excel.
For others you did risk your life
You served your country well.

A devoted son who was loved,
One who smiled with pain concealed.
Not wanting others to be distressed,
Feelings within were not revealed.

A caring Husband and Father,
And a wonderful Brother too.
When happy moments I recall,
I'll always think of you.

Thanks Southbreeze for letting me
use this beautiful poem for my brother.
I love you always!

Buck has been a truck driver all of his life.
He drove for American Bakeries for over 20 yrs.
He also drove for several others since his retirement
and was driving a truck the day God took him home.
His CB handle was ShoeString, all his trucker friends
knew him by that name. I just found out today that his
nickmname "Buck" was one that he named hisself. You see,
our Granddaddy Jordan was a constable and they called him
Buck so our Buck said if it's good enough for my granddaddy
it good enough for me...lol He never really like the name This is why I thought this background was just right
for the dedication of my brother, that I miss each day.
