Torry and Garrett

God always knew You and I
Would need a cherished friend,
That is why He sent me you,
That is why God made us friends;
We keep our shattered hearts
As one to face the days ahead.

First God called your Julie
to His Heaven up above,
He needed one more flower
in His garden full of love;
Her long and golden hair
to set a halo shining bright,
And God knew that you would need
a cherished friend for life.

God then looked down
and saw two souls,
So full of love for others,
He called to Garrett and knew that Torry
would hold his hand and follow;
Two more golden spirits
to wear a halo glowing bright,
And God knew that I would need
A cherished friend for life.

All so young and in our eyes
Their lives just starting into buds,
But God called them to come home
And flower in His presence.
We miss our children dearly,
Our hearts are filled with pain;
And yes, God knew, You and I
Would need a cherished friend for life.

Now at night we look to Heaven
And see our angels shining bright,
They form a pattern in the sky,
Holding hands till morning's light;
We cry for days that should have been,
of growing older with each one;
And yes, God knew, that we would need
a cherished friend for life......
