Part Six....
~Final Tribute To Maya~

So much still fills my heart and soul. God keeps showing and telling me things as more time passes (and the miraculous events of Maya's healing sinks in). I can look back at the times when I felt so alone and see how busy God was working for us, and on us, the whole time. You know, when things get really tough, God gives us a little hope (just as the doctor did with Maya's sound), and after it sinks in He gives us a little more.

The question is, "Do we really want to mature as a Christian, or do we just want to grow in the Lord a little?" When things get uncomfortable are we ready to turn it off like Maya does with her sound? Are we content with what we know of Jesus, and not prefer something tough (that might change our attitudes and end up a long, hard journey to reach greater heights with the Lord)?

Maya's sound and learning has been, and will always be a challenge for her. Batteries die and need to be changed to keep her ability to hear. She becomes deprogrammed and has to get reprogrammed to hear again. The weather, especially storms and humidity affect Maya's hearing. Umm... kind of like the storm of life and our hearing God, don't you think?

We can never see all of God, just like Maya will never hear every sound created. But I know she will always try to tune all the sounds in that she can. My prayer is for God to continue fine-tuning me to hear and see more and more of Him. Sometimes that is rather uncomfortable, but the more He shows someone as unworthy as me, the more and more I desire to see.

Thank you, Father, for the journey with Maya that I could never see or begin to understand. For within that little creation, You have recreated me.
