Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in HOPE of the glory of God. And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; And patience, experience; and experience, HOPE: And HOPE maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us. Romans 5:1-5
There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God, and eschewed evil
Job 1:1When I committed my life and my children to the Lord, Job was the first book that I studied. It amazed me to learn that even though we belonged to the Lord, satan would test my commitment and it could cost me a lot - my family, my health, material possessions, friendships and relationships. What he can’t take is my life for it belongs to my Father.
I was learning things that no man could really explain to me and when I did try to discuss it with others, they thought I was far too serious in this. Thank God for the Holy Spirit that taught me and gave me courage to stand for what I believed.
I am by no means a Job as far as my faithfulness to the Lord goes. Many times, I have acted on my feelings and not what was right by God to do, I have sometimes justifying what I wanted as being what God wanted for me. Unlike Job in his commitment to stand strong in times of adversity and pray for his family, I need to learn to lift up my children daily as he did.
And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for My name's sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit Everlasting Life.
Matthew 19:29God wants all of us, not just a part. This can cause your relationships with others that are not of like mind to distant themselves from you or try to discourage you from being where you are. It can bring some very lonely times but the blessings will come – in God’s time!
And the Lord turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before. Then came there unto him all his brethren, and all his sisters, and all they that had been of his acquaintance before, and did eat bread with him in his house: and they bemoaned him, and comforted him over all the evil that the Lord had brought upon him: every man also gave him a piece of money, and every one an earring of gold. So the Lord blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning: for he had fourteen thousand sheep, and six thousand camels, and a thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand she donkeys.
Job 42: 10-12I am not to the end of my journey of testing but I am holding onto the HOPE that the Lord is with me, that He will bring me through this and the blessings shall pour out from heaven, for even in the midst, God is with me and He will bring me through. In the midst of all, His peace is with me for I am seeking Him.
Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus…
As you read through these pages, may your heart be touched and may you know that God is as close as a whisper away. He comforts us, He listens and He speaks to us if we will listen for His voice.
