Gone Home - September 19, 2005

Benjamin died Monday, September 19, 2005. He was the beloved husband of Rose for 27 years. Ben was a sanitation worker, retiring after 20 years. He left behind several children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. Pastor and friend, Rev. Nicholas Tebordo, conducted the service.

I met Ben and Rose in 1989 and it was a friendship that bonded from the first day. We had many good times together. Ben was a simple man, happy to just be with his wife, watch his John Wayne movies and enjoy his grandchildren. Fishing was his one great love and he went every chance he could, teaching his grandsons as each became old enough to hold onto a fishing pole. He was a man with a big heart.
