On the eve of Christmas
And all through the town
No one was whispering
There was not a sound

No gossip, no murmuring
No complaining or groan
Just praise and thanksgiving
People took on a new tone

From the youngest to oldest
Each reached out to another
Showing love and admiration
Hugging Sister and Brother

United together in Christ
Seeking God in prayer
Holding hands together
Showing that they care

Seeking to make it different
Centered on Christ alone
This holiday to be better
The Love of God shown

This poem was written after we had many deaths in our families.
A Christmas Prayer
With all the events of this past year
It seems appropriate to do a prayer
That God be with us in these times
And bring sweet memories to our minds

We seldom get together to share
How much we love you and really care
Our lives get so busy and we never ask
How are you doing? What a small task

As our country is united to take a stand
Against an enemy and his fowl hand
May our family unite to boldly declare
No division shall try to enter here

Life is short and issues seem small
When sorrow and sadness hit us all
So, today we would like to say a prayer
May God protect you and always be near
