"A Mother's Prayer"

A Mother loves her children beyond measure.
They are adored by her and they're her lifetime treasure.

My Mother laid down her life and gave everything she had to my three sisters and me.
She didn't have flowery speech and alot of flare.
She was a stay at home Mom and didn't go anywhere.
Putting herself aside she made sure we had enough food and clean clothes to wear.

Never going to movies, or on vacations, or living beyond her means.
She made sure we were taken care of way up into our teens.

Right by my father's side she worked hard helping to build our house.
Always quiet and timid as a little mouse.

My Mother was my joy for she had so much pride.
She told me when I got married I made such a lovely bride.

She kept us safe and prayed that we all would turn out alright.
Making sure we were tucked safely in bed as she turned out the light.

Her last days we got so close.
You see she loved us all the same and laughed about us as she'd boast.

My Mom died on May 11, 2000
As I celebrate Mother's Day, I know how much she loved me.
