VICTORY GARDEN

"For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord,
plans to prosper you and not to harm you,
plans to give you a hope and a future.
Then you will call upon me and come
and pray to me and I will listen to you.
You will seek me and find me
when you seek me with all your heart.
I will be found by you declares the Lord
and will bring you back from captivity."
Jer 29:11-14a

Welcome to Victory Garden.
My name is Jan.
I designed this site to give God the Glory
for what He has done for me.
I am a Christian, wife, mother, and grandmother
who dealt with Panic Disorder for over twenty years.
My husband and family have been my greatest support
through my struggle with PD.
My focus here is on Jesus and His love.
Only through faith, prayer and scriptures
have I been able to come this far coping with PD.
Fear is a major part of panic disorder.
FEAR: FALSE EVIDENCE APPEARING REAL.
If you have ever experienced a panic attack,
you felt like you were having a heart attack
or you thought you were going to die!
2 TIM. 1:7 God did not give us a spirit of fear
but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
PSALM 34:4 I prayed to the Lord, He answered me,
He delivered me from my fears.
Jesus delivered me from my fears and He will do that for you too.
1 JOHN 4:4b Greater is He that is in me
than he that is in the world.
JOHN 10:10 The thief comes only to steal, kill, and destroy,
I have come in order that you might have life--
life in all its fullness.
We often walk around defeated
and don't recognize the true enemy in our lives.
We can WALK IN FREEDOM!
If you are dealing with Panic Disorder
and need someone to talk to who completely understands,
write to me. I would love to hear from you.

The message here applies to everyone.
Life can be hard,
but with God comes His strength, His courage, and His peace.
He loves us unconditionally.
People let us down,
but He will never leave us nor forsake us.
Praise the Lord!

Serenity of Nature
~ Margaret Lousie Mints ~

I walked along a garden path
And felt God's presence there,
And noticed how even the largest trees
Lift leafy arms in prayer.
God seems so near when soft winds sing
Their message through the trees,
And there is peace beyond compare
For blessings such as these.

The lacy ferns so delicate,
Swaying in the gentle breeze,
And the coralbells and poppies
Growing underneath the trees
Are samples of God's handiwork . . .
A tranquil, hushed retreat.
And the beauty of each thing He made
Brings refreshment deep and sweet.

May there be for everyone
A spot where they can share,
The beauties of creation
Forgetting worldly cares.
A quietness so peaceful
And a heart so filled with love,
That they may have serenity
And peace from God above.

A FRIEND CALLED JESUS

I have a friend called Jesus
On Him I do depend,
He walks with me and talks to me
His mercy never ends.
Along my life's long journey
There has been sorrow and many trials,
But Jesus never left me alone
He went the extra miles.

Whenever I would fail to stand,
He carried me on through,
all the fiery trials, the lonely nights
He said "Child I love you."

Sometimes it's been hard
not to see Him face to face,
But somehow I know he's there
He's in every place.

In brightness of the sunshine,
In the whisper of a dove,
All God's creation
Speak of His magnificent love.

So if you feel discouraged
If you feel all alone,
Even with people around you
He will satisfy your soul.

Money will not do it
Self-glory or self-made fame,
He's the one who can complete your life,
HE alone can make that claim.
I tried this old worlds system
with its evil and its sin,
It took me further than I wanted to go
I won't go there again.

Jesus is my helper, He is my
strength and shield,
He gave His life to save me
My life I freely yield.

If you want joy and you need peace
just talk to Him today,
He will come into your heart
and take your fears away.
He will stay with you until the end
He'll never leave your side
He'll comfort you, He'll walk with you,
On Him you can depend.

I have a friend called Jesus
His praises will I sing,
He'll be your friend also, dear friend,
if your heart to Him you'll bring.

YOUR GARDEN

Your mind is like a garden:
Whatever you plant will grow.
Your thoughts are seeds you're planting:
They produce, each after it's kind.

And you, just like a gardener,
Can choose which seeds you'll plant.
And by the choice of seeds you sow,
You choose the harvest you will reap.

So don't plant seeds of lack or fear,
Disease, discord, or doubt.
Plant, instead, the seeds you want;
Then things you want will sprout.

This gift of choice is given to all,
And not to just a few.
The harvest, friend, is in your hands:
The crop depends on you.

So take this power which you've been given,
And use it every day,
To gain from life the good you want,
For you have found the way.

THE WORLD IS GOD'S GARDEN. WE ARE HERE FOR A SHORT TIME.

LET US BE THANKFUL FOR HAVING THE PRIVILEGE OF THE VISIT.

GARDENING GOD'S WAY

Plant three rows of Squash:

Squash gossip
Squash criticism
Squash indifference

Plant three rows of Peas:

Purity
Patience
Perseverance

Plant four rows of Lettuce:

Let us be kind
Let us be faithful
Let us be obedient
Let us love one another

No garden is complete without Turnips:

Turn up for meetings
Turn up for service
Turn up to help one another

Water freely with patience and
Cultivate with love.
There is much fruit in your garden
Because you reap what you sow.

To conclude our garden

We must have thyme:

Thyme for God
Thyme for study
Tyme for eachother
Thyme for prayer

After planting, may you "Grow in Grace
and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ"
(II Peter 3:18.) And may you reap rich results.

"GARDEN OF LOVE"

The Father gives Him precious seed,
to sow among the sod;
A gift to a barren world,
straight from the hand of God.

He looks for a place to plant,
searching the hearts of men;
Too often the soil is hardened,
and cannot be used by Him.

But every now and then He finds,
A heart tilled and ready for seed;
And there He plants the seed of faith,
in the soil of the one who believes.

Day by day the garden grows,
as He sows the seed from above;
And the Spirit, comes to dwell in it,
God's beautiful garden of love.

- Jan McIntosh

Grow in God's garden by planting the seed, nurturing it, and
watching it grow and produce seed of its own.
Mark 6: 31

I ASKED GOD

I asked God for strength , that I might achieve
I was made weak, that I might learn humbly to obey,
I asked for health, that I might do greater things
I was given infirmity, that I might do better things.
I asked for riches, that I might be happy
I was given poverty, that I might be wise.
I asked for power, that I might have the praise of men
I was given weakness, that I might feel the need for God.
I asked for all things, that I might enjoy life
I was given life, that I might enjoy all things.
I got nothing I asked for, but everything I had hoped for.
Almost despite myself, my unspoken prayers were answered.
I am, among men, most richly blessed.

The Miracle of a New Day.

I woke up early today, excited over all I get to do
before the clock strikes midnight.
I have responsibilities to fulfill today.
I am important.
My job is to choose what kind of day I am going to have.

Today, I can complain because the weather is rainy or.
. I can be thankful the grass is getting watered for free.

Today, I can feel sad that I don't have more money or...
I can be glad my finances encourage me to plan my purchases wisely
and guide me away from waste.

Today, I can grumble about my health or...
I can rejoice I am alive.

Today, I can lament over all my parents didn't give me when I was growing up or...
I can feel grateful they allowed me to be born.

Today, I can mourn my lack of friends or...
I can excitedly embark upon a quest to discover new relationships.

Today, I can whine because I have to go to work or...
I can shout for joy because I have a job to go to.

Today, I can complain because I have to go to school or...
eagerly open my mind and fill it with rich new tidbits of knowledge.

Today, I can murmur dejectedly because I have to do housework or...
I can feel honored because God has provided shelter for my mind, body, and soul.

Today, I can reflect on life and feel regret
that things have not worked out as I had planned or...
I can rejoice that I have begun a new life in Christ.

Today stretches ahead of me, waiting to be shaped.
And here I am, the sculptor who gets to do the shaping.
What today will be like is up to me.
I get to choose what kind of day I will have!

The Miracle of a New Day.

The Garden

By Gwyneth Harding

Do you like to walk into the garden?
When the flowers are in full bloom
And smell the lovely fragrance
The colours are beautiful too.
Yellow, white, purple, pink and red
Red reminds me of Calvary
Where Jesus's precious blood was shed
Shed for sinners, shed for me.
Jesus walked into the garden
When He rose up from the grave
It was there He met a woman
Mary is her name.
She thought He was the gardener
And with all the love in her heart
She said, "Tell me where you've laid my Lord
So that I can go and bring Him back".
And as He called her lovely name
So gentle and so tender
Only then she fully realized
It was Jesus, her wonderful Saviour.
Mary knew Him so well
All her sins He'd forgiven
And as her heart beat faster
She called out to Him, "Rabboni, Master!"
When you walk among the lilies
You'll walk with Him in prayer
His lovely presence will be with you
For He's the Rose of Sharon fair.
Just like the lovely flowers
I want to do my part
To reflect all your wonderful beauty
Please Jesus, make a garden in my heart!
