So little is known about where the Wellman's came from or to whom they belonged that I debated even including it in this website. But maybe some of our Wellman Cousins will stumble on our website and be able to fill in the missing pieces for us.

I do know that our great-grandmother Tabitha was only 13 years old when she married Elisha Wellman. Grandma told the story of how when her father came home from work at the end of the day, expecting to find dinner, he would find his young wife out playing with her own children.
