World Geography Level Two

In this level we will study each continent at a time.  Ideas for activities.

List all the countries that are found in the continent you are learning about, and learn where to find them on a blank map.

Learn all the capitols of those countries and learn where to find them on a blank map.  If possible learn who the current leader is of each country.

Learn other major cities that are in the news a lot, rivers, mountain ranges and other important landmarks in those countries.

Read a story about the area of the world you are learning about.  It can be fiction or nonfiction, and from any time period.

Write down the basic history of that area of the world.

Write about the events happening now in that area of the world.

Find out what it might be like to live in the area that you are studying about.  Compare and contrast life in that area to life in the United States, and or that area's past.

On a world map, color code the map to show how the world is divided into regions such as by climate, language, and religion.  (Use a different map for each item.)  Example color each country red where English is the primary language.

Note:  If you are using my Three Ring Binder Method, file all world maps at the beginning of your World Geography section.  File all reports about the different continents next.  If you make a report about a specific country, file them in alphabetical order under the continent that they belong to.
