Acceptable Words
Our prayer should be as the prayer of the Psalmist David, "let our words which are
spoken, and also the thoughts of our heart be pleasing to you O
Lord...you are our Rock and our
Redeemer.
When our heart is full of the joy of the Lord and the knowledge of who He is as our
Savior, Lord and King, we will seek to be more like Him. Acceptable words are those of which
the Lord would approve and are pleasing unto him. Knowing who we are "in Christ" and
"who Christ is within our hearts" makes a difference in our lives.
We have been made whole
through his finished work at Calvary and can testify of his power to save, deliver and heal.
Speaking right words comes by thinking right thoughts. We are given instructions for our thought life
in Philippians 4.
What we put into our minds will
determine what comes out in our actions and words.
True, good, and right thoughts of the mind will result in right speaking and actions. We must examine what
we put into our minds through television, books,
magazines, words of friends and what we allow daily
to be set before the gate of our mind.
We are to replace harmful input with
wholesome material
and thoughts.
Although it takes practice, it can be done when we seek God first.
God's Word exhorts
us in right thinking and speaking and will also reprove and correct when we accept his Words.
God's Word is as a looking glass to reflect what may be wrong in our lives. Through the Holy Spirit
convicting and speaking to hearts, lives are changed as they grow and mature in his grace.
We have such a loving God who cares so much for each of us and desires we seek his will and ways.
When we follow the instructions of the Lord, He will keep us in perfect peace because our
minds will be fixed upon Him.
His peace is far more wonderful than our human minds can
understand.
It will keep our thoughts and hearts quiet and at rest as we trust in Jesus
Christ our Lord. Thinking on whatsoever things are of a good report and dwelling on honest
and pure thoughts will help us love as Jesus loves.
If we do these things, the God
of peace will be with us and our hearts will be at
rest.
There is no other who can calm the troubled waters of one's soul and make them whole.
May our words and thoughts always be upon the good things of the Lord as we know the
"eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous."
Only through Christ, can we make it through
this world and have a safe landing!
With Christ as our Pilot and Commander-in-Chief, what
do we have to fear?
His presence is ever near as we draw nigh unto Him.
Thanks to the Lord for the 'Comforter' sent to be with us always.
May our Redeemer, the 'Rock of our salvation', be glorified
today and always!
Blessings in Christ,
Jo Ann
