Alive in Christ
Reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto
sin,
but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our
Lord.
Romans 6: 11
Because of the marvelous grace of Christ, we
are revived and made alive in God. We
are told in this Scripture to count ourselves as
dead toward sin as we have a new life in
Christ Jesus. Old things have passed away
and all things have been made new in our
hearts by the work of His Holy
Spirit.
We can give thanks because we are no longer
under the law, but live under grace and are free
in Christ. Our right standing with God is
because of the sacrifice of Jesus and atonement by
Him to bring us back into a right and living
relationship. All who believe can receive
and have fellowship with the Saviour.
To avoid the pitfalls of sin, we are to heed
God's word daily, fellowship with other
believers, and witness to the lost. We are
servants when we live for God and servanthood is a
high calling given us. When we
wholeheartedly give ourselves to God's work, we
will enrich and strengthen ourselves and therefore
honor God by serving Him in Spirit and in
truth. May we seek a closer walk with our
Lord each day in all we do and say.

True Freedom
" Our Lord hung the stars, bore the stripes,
and still sets souls free."
"And I will walk at liberty: for I seek thy
precepts."
Psalm 119: 45
"This too shall pass"
We have a promise from God of victory through all
the schemes of the enemy. Keeping God's laws
brings us liberty from bondage. We do not have a
promise of deliverance from every situation, but
of His presence being with us through all
situations. He will never allow more to be put
upon one than they can bear. And we know and have
confidence that "this too shall pass".
We can look to the Lord in full assurance and
claim these promises. He is our light and our
salvation. All these things we have seen and hear,
point to a day ahead when there will be no more
pain or sorrow. Our blessed hope looks to that day
when there will be "peace in the valley"
for every child of God. That day will come and we
are one day closer today than yesterday. We are
nearer to His deliverance as we see all these
things which will pass. Why should we fear?
We may not know what the future holds, but we do
know the one who holds the future. This is all we
need to know to lean on and to be secure. We are
not defeated as the final war has already been
won. There will be more wars and rumors of war.
There will be a shaking in the heavenlies as the
forces of evil battle against righteousness.
Righteousness will always be the victor, even with
losses along the way; as the final chapter has
been signed, sealed and delivered unto us.
We should love the laws of the Lord and meditate
upon them. If this is our delight, we shall be
like a tree planted by rivers of water. We may
feel the heat from the events all around us, but
our leaf shall not wither. When we have our roots
in the living water of His Word, we shall
withstand the heat of the battle and not be
shaken. The ungodly are not so; but are like the
chaff which the wind driveth away. (Psalms 1: 4)
We have assurance "for the Lord knoweth the
way of the righteous; but the way of the ungodly
shall perish". Ps. 1-6.
Claim his promises today and rest in His words.
Continue to pray for families of those
killed, missing, and injured in this horrible
tragedy. Pray for all the emergency workers and
volunteers and also those who bring news from the
scene. This must surely have an effect on each one
as they witness such loss and destruction. We need
to especially remember our Nation's leaders in the
coming days of decision and those whom their
decisions will affect.
God is good and his mercy will keep those who
trust in Him through the days ahead.
