BOOK OF REMEMBRANCE

There is a Book in heaven which recalls the

deeds of men

The Lord hears every word and thought from deep within,

Our names have been written in the Book of Life,

Our Christian works are remembered but not our forgiven past sins.

He takes the sin away as far as the east from  the west,

Gives us a robe of righteousness and his very best,

By the power of his hand we are made new creations,

We have a God who cares who gives us a new relation.

Within God's books are written the names and works of all

One day they shall meet the Lord and then they shall recall.

Motives of the heart and things that are unseen now,

Will be revealed at the final judgment in God's day and hour.

His judgment will be fair when before Him we stand

The believer's judgment of works will be for each saved man.

The sins that were cast away will not be remembered,

He has paid the price and we have been forgiven.

The reasons for each action while in service for the Lord

Will be disclosed in judgment and determine one's reward.

May our desire be to always please Him and be  faithful and true,

The Lord is coming soon just like He said He would do.

                              BOOK OF REMEMBRANCE

"Then they that feared the Lord spake often one
to another; and the Lord hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before Him for them that feared the Lord, and that thought upon his name."
Malachi 3: 16.

In the Book of Malachi, we see many prophecies which have not yet been fulfilled but will come to pass in the Day of the Lord. The faithful remnant will be prepared as will all those who know and fear him to think upon his name.

Reverence and fear of the Lord begins with acknowledging who He is and his holiness.  His power is greater than all the powers of heaven and earth.  We are told that those that spoke one to another and feared the Lord were heard by Him.  Not only did Scriptures say God heard their words, but a Book of Remembrance was written before Him for them that feared the Lord and that thought upon His name.

We see conversations of reverence are looked upon by the Lord and remembered as recorded in his Book of Remembrance.  We know there will be a Believer's judgment of works and the Book of Remembrance will contain good words and thoughts which the Lord desired to be spoken and were pleasing unto Him.  Every idle thought and word will also be remembered and many will suffer loss of reward in the judgment of works.

These people who are the faithful remnant spoken of in these Scriptures shall belong to the Lord in that day when he makes up his jewels.  He will spare them as a man sparing his own son that serves him. There will be a re - gathering of Israel from the north, south, east, and west where they have been scattered among the Nations.  Even today, many are returning to their homeland and beloved Nation.  Israel will be able to discern in the day of the Lord between those who serve God and those who do not serve Him or the difference between the righteous and the wicked.  The Lord will set his hand a second time to recover the remnant of his people.

There is a great day coming when there will be true peace.  Before that day, there will be a false peace.  We know when they shall declare, "peace, peace.... sudden destruction shall come in like a flood" as the nations gather to do battle against Israel.  The Lord himself shall intervene at the appointed time and day to bring judgment and put down the enemy.  Righteousness shall reign in the end as our victorious Lord fights the battle and has already won the war.

We read of a day when the hearts of the fathers hall be turned to the children and the heart of the children to their fathers before Messiah's return. The wicked shall be trodden under the soles of the feet of the righteous as ashes in that day.  The righteous who fear the Lord shall reign with the Lord forever and the Sun of righteousness shall arise with healing in his wings.  They shall go forth and grow up as calves of the stall. Again we see the promise of those who are blessed and go forward in strength to reign in kingdom power, are those who fear the Lord.

May we be as those seen in the Book of Malachi who were worthy of having words and conversation as his children in a book of remembrance. Many people on earth only remember the deeds of Christians while they were sinners, not seeing or recognizing those following the Lord or good deeds while in his service.

God looks upon his new creations created in his image with his attributes, and sees old things as passed away and all things new. He does not look upon man as people look upon one another.  He remembers the former things no more but is shown as having a Book of Remembrance of the reverent words of those, one with another, which pleases him. We are to seek to please God and not man, and will be rewarded when we walk according to his will. God's words and judgment count for all eternity.  We have been bought with a price and are valued by the Lord.  As we think upon the price paid and the day of the Lord which is to come, may we seek him this day in spirit and in truth.  In doing so, we can be assured we have the Lord's favor and grace. He is an "awesome Father" to those who are his which He bought with a price. May He be glorified today and always as we remember his great sacrifice because of love for our salvation.

Blessings In Christ,
