| It
was the night before Christmas and through Bethlehem town, |
Joseph searched all the inns, but no room could be found. |
Being great with child, by his
side, |
| Was Mary who was very tired
from this ride. |
| "No room
in this inn", the two had been told, |
So they settled for a stable, out in the cold. |
On this very night, the time had come, |
For the birth of her child, God's only Son. |
Joseph pondered
deeply of the strange events,
And tried to understand, what they meant.
And while he thought, on all these things,
An Angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream.
| "Fear not
Joseph", the angel revealed,
"To take Mary as your wife, and with her live".
"God is the Father of the child she carries",
So Joseph took Mary, and they were married.
They had traveled to Bethlehem, At the time for this birth,
Of the Son of God, who would be King of this Earth.
They settled in the stable and in a manger filled with hay,
The Christ Child was born, on that first Christmas day.
| In this same country,
shepherds watched their flocks by night,
And an Angel appeared to them, surrounded by God's glory so bright.
"Behold, good tidings of great joy I bring", they heard the
Angel say,
"For unto you a Savior is born, who will lead the world in God's
way".
| The shepherds went
with haste to Bethlehem town,
And there in the manager, the Christ Child was found.
They were enthralled by this Child from above,
Who made them keenly aware, of the Father's great love.
| Three wise men from
afar, came searching for the King of the Jews,
And even King Herod was asked, if he had heard the news.
The star from the East, which was gloriously seen,
Went before the wise men, guiding them to the King.
| The birth of the
Christ Child,
That first Christmas Day,
Is the real story of Christmas,
That is here to stay.
| This
Christ Child called Jesus,
Given as a gift to all Nations,
Shed his blood on Calvary's Cross,
And paved our road to Salvation.
| So
as we give gifts, and celebrate this Season,
Let us never forget, Jesus Christ is the reason.
He was born to die on a hill called Calvary,
God's gift of Salvation, to make the world free.
| May you have a
"Christ-filled" Christmas!
"Jesus is the reason for the season".
