                              Harvest Time

It has well been said that Satan is stealing from the harvest of the Lord. The fields are white unto harvest, but the workers are few.  Each day people are being led astray into sin instead of getting on the right path that leads to heaven. We know the field is the world and belongs to God but Satan is  the 'prince of the powers' of the air.  God has given man dominion as in the beginning,  but man chose to relinquish all God had given him and listen to the lies of Satan.  As a result, the first man, Adam, gave his authority to Satan and created a gap between God and man.

God had a plan to purchase our salvation and bring mankind back into a relationship with Him which had been lost at the fall of man.  Sin and disobedience brought a curse, and there was a price which had to be paid.  God sent his only Son, Jesus, who was a willing sacrifice to redeem mankind and bring him back into a covenant relationship by his grace.  He is the great Intercessor who stood in the gap to bring man back into a covenant relationship with the Living God. He still intercedes and calls others to join in the "fight for the right" and pray
without ceasing to help see others join the army of the Lord.

Jesus looked out at the crowds which followed him and referred to them as a field, ripe for harvest. There are many people all around who are ready to give their hearts unto God if someone will only show them the way. Jesus commands us to pray that people will answer his call and respond to the need for workers. When we pray this prayer, he will sometimes show us that we can be the answer to our prayers. God answers our prayers by using us, when we pray in spirit and truth.

The Lord calls us to a higher mission than only finding peace and tranquility in this life.  Love of family is one of the laws of God, but even this love can be self-serving. This can sometimes be an excuse not to worship and serve God or to do his work. Before we can take up our cross daily, we must lay down our cares and priorities.  Only then, can we pick up the commitment to Christ.  We must be totally committed to the Lord, and willing to face anything for Him.  Willingness brings true worship.

Each day is a new opportunity to share God's love with others. May we see others through eyes of love and as Jesus sees them. He will give us words of grace to proclaim as He goes before us.  He is the Lord of the Harvest and is coming again soon.
We are to prepare ourselves for God to use us to show others the way back to Him.   God did not draft, force, or ask the disciples to volunteer for service.  He called them and being called means being chosen to serve Christ in a special way. He is also calling us to follow Him in service.  The response to his call is up to each of us.  His benefits are the best and the rewards are "out of this world!"

Blessings in Christ,

"Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go
for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.".........Isaiah 6: 8.

                                  Harvest in the Fields
There are many in the fields lost and dying without God
As we go day by day on our way,
Many will not see the light of tomorrow's sun,
Souls undone without Christ, in need of someone to pray.

Workers are few in the field of the Lord
While his house is filled with joy and celebration,
The Father still calls for those who will go,
And proclaim his truth to every tribe and nation.

Each day we see them as we pass them on our way,
Souls lost and undone without God's Son,
Do we ever stop to pray or tell them someone cares?
God can save a multitude with the voice of even one.

As we look to the signs of the times close at hand,
May we take up our cross and his burden share,
Time is running out as His coming is nigh,
May we see dying souls and be servants who will care.
