High And Lifted Up
"Behold, my servant shall deal prudently, He shall be exalted
and extolled, and be very high."
Isaiah 52: 13
The announcement of the Messiah and his
atonement was prophesied many years
before He came to earth in robes of flesh to walk among men and to die in their place
for sins.
The news of a Deliverer was to be an encouragement to Israel, if they would believe
the report of the Lord.
The God of Israel was to be their reward as the Lord went before them
to guide them. He would be the one to save the people from their sins and bondage
as the Deliverer out of Zion to reign forever.
It was said the Lord would deal prudently, and we still see this being fulfilled. When he walked
among men on this Earth, he dealt prudently in the midst.
The word, "prudently," in Hebrew
meaning is "sakal" which
means to act or make circumspect and hence intelligent, instruct,
consider, prosper, deal prudently as to give skillfully and have good success.
It also means to teach,
make to understand, make wise and guide wittingly. Our Lord's character and actions are all
characteristic of the description which was prophesied about the way He would deal with men.
He still deals prudently with all men, and it is our obligations to also have prudence
in our lives as we seek to obey His will.
We also see in this Scripture the prophesy of our Lord being exalted and extolled. He has been
exalted as King of Kings and Lord of Lords and will be worshipped for all eternity as Lord. The word
"extolled" means to be lifted up, and our Lord was lifted up on Calvary's cross that he might draw
all men unto Him.
He is also high and lifted up today as our God who will reign
throughout all eternity.
We are to seek to dwell in the secret place of the Most High God and be under the shadow
and protection of the Almighty.
His promises are his Word and will for our lives and as we worship
and adore the one who deals prudently in our lives, we take part in lifting
up our Lord to the glory of God.
When we exalt Jesus as first in our lives, others second, and ourselves last, we will have joy in our
lives which will be our strength. We can give thanks to the Lord that his joy is our strength and
will see us through this life. We can also be happy in knowing by faith,
we are pleasing unto our Lord.
Blessings In Christ,
