Jesus Calls Us To A Higher Place

"Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden,
and I will give you rest."  Matthew 11: 28

There is an old song called, "Come Unto Me," which speaks of the Blessed Savior calling the oppressed to come unto Him and find peace and rest.  The Lord still calls all who are weary  and need peace and rest to 'come to Him and be blessed'.  His yoke is easy and his burden is light.  To be joined to the Lord is to release our earthly cares unto the one who will carry them for us and give us his burden for souls in exchange.  It is to live and fellowship with the Lord and obedience through love for Him and others.  He calls each one of us to a higher place in Him that we can only find as His Spirit leads the way.  God has a garden of grace filled with his love and waits to meet souls there that they might receive his salvation, blessings, and love.  His grace lives within our hearts and lives when we come to Him and heed the gospel call.

He is meek and lowly and has a heart of compassion for those who are wandering outside the fold of safety as well as his children.  It is his desire to bring them into his peace, rest, joy and love.  We, who have been brought into the shelter of his love, are each called to share his love and salvation message with others. We are not responsible for making them believe the message or receive it, but it is only our calling and duty to present the message in truth, spirit, and love.  The Holy Spirit will convict open hearts of the truths of the Lord and in his way and time, God's word will not return void.

God has a place where we can meet with Him in prayer and it begins within our hearts.  When we let Jesus be Lord of our lives and of every part of our heart, we can go to Him at any time and receive the help, comfort, love, and fellowship that we desire as His child.  He will lead us in right paths and away from dangers or oppression that might come our way.  He is the Good Shepherd and knows the paths of safety and salvation that we are to walk within. The world will also call unto souls to follow in the ways it has to offer, but the carnal minded ways of the world lead to death.  His way is life eternal with peace and rest in Him all along the way. Choosing Jesus is choosing life.

May we seek the Lord while He may be found and stay on the right paths as He gently leads us forward. We have One who carried the weight of the world's sins upon his shoulders, and can surely carry you and I when we grow weary.  There is no burden too big for the Lord and no problem which he cannot solve. Cast your every burden upon Him, for he cares for you. God's 'garden of grace' is as close as the mention of his holy name. The flowers always bloom within God's garden and his sweet fragrance fills our spirit with love as we delight in the laws of the Lord.  Thanks to our Savior for calling us into his presence each new day.
