Knowing God
"But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly; wherefore God is not ashamed
to be called their God; for he hath prepared for them a City."
...........Hebrews 11: 16
In this world today, many people say 'who you know' helps move you higher up the ladder of success. People support their friends in life when
they want to see them succeed and get ahead. Knowing the right people can
make a difference in the business world, just as "knowing Jesus" makes a difference for the Child of God now, and in all eternity.
There is also is a spiritual truth as to "who you know" determining
"where you go," or where you will spend eternity. Before we came to know the Lord, we were all lost and dying without hope for the future.
When we received Jesus and his plan,
we became a new creature in Christ as his adopted children.
Now we desire to know Him
better daily. He reveals himself to us in his Word and prayer as we fellowship with Him daily.
Knowing God is knowing that we have the assurance of a better home for all eternity.
Not only is it better, it is beyond anything which we could ever imagine. In the New Jerusalem
and heavens where we will never grow old, we will not only know our Lord but loved ones gone on before
and Saints of the Bible. 'Who we know' really does determine our destination in life's journey.
May we share the good news of the Gospel and let others know that their future
is determined by "who they know." Knowing the Lord is knowing love, life, peace and joy.
Even greater is the fact that "He knows us," and has called us according to his purpose.
Let us follow on in this life with the blessed hope and promises we have been given.
We are on a journey and are one day closer to our heavenly destination. With Jesus as our Savior and his Holy Spirit leading, we have the assurance
of safe traveling, despite the many obstacles along the way.
Over comers in Christ endure until the end, knowing there is a better place just ahead.
May the 'One' who went away to prepare a place for us be praised
today and always!
Blessings in Christ,
Jo Ann

His Glory Forever
Streets of gold and gates of pearl
Adorn the City of the King,
A crystal river flowing from the throne,
Where angels gather and his praises sing.
Beauty and splendor await all who enter in,
Where we shall live and never die,
The glory of God will be the light of that City,
Where we shall live in the sweet by and by.
Mansions of beauty will be a sight to behold
As loved ones gone on greet us on heaven's shores,
But the beauty of the Lord shall outshine them all,
As we sing his praises and live on high forevermore.
