Job
was a man in the Old Testament who
was upright in all his ways and
turned from evil.
He
must have felt like a small child
without any answers when the Lord
questioned him
as to his wisdom and knowledge of
how things were created and
how everything worked
together as it should in this
world. If Job could not
explain the things seen, then
how could he explain the things which
are unseen? It is the same
with us and we all
must acknowledge that only God is
"all knowing, all powerful, and
only He can do all
things.
We
see this interesting discussion
in Job 38 between the Lord and Job,
as God answered Job's remarks out
of the whirlwind. The
Lord asked Job many questions which
Job could
not answer, as only the Lord could
create the world, hang the moon and
stars in
the heavens, and make man in his
image. Only the Lord
could bring forth the
clouds and cause the dayspring to
know his place. Only God knows
how the clouds can
be suspended in the air with so much
water in them. It may be
a mystery to us, but we
know he holds them up by his own
power in the same way he hung the
earth and all
planets on nothing. They
revolve by laws God has made for
them and never change unless
at his command. There
are also fixed laws in regard to our
obedience and God's blessings.
If we obey his commands, he tells us
he will bless us which is a promise
we can claim by
being obedient out of a heart of
love and a motivation to serve our
Lord.
Job
was asked if he had entered into the
treasures of the snow or seen the
treasures of
the hail. He could not answer
as to which way the light parted or
the seas had boundaries, but
the Lord had all wisdom as Master
and Maker of heaven and earth.
If Job could not answer
these questions as to the snow,
hail, waters and things seen, how
could he speak of
the unseen things of God or His
decisions and will for Job's
life?
Only
the Lord could cause it to rain upon
the earth, on the wilderness, to
satisfy the
desolate and waste ground; and to
cause the bud of the tender herb to
spring forth.
Jehovah
God questioned Job and asked him,
"hath the rain a father or who
hath begotten the
drops of dew?" "Out
of whose womb came the ice, and the
hoary frost of heaven, who
hath
gendered it?" Job
knew he could not bind the chains of
Pleiades, or loose the bands
of Orion. He could not bring
forth Mazzaroth in his season or
guide Arcturus with
his sons. He did not know the
ordinances of heaven nor could he
set the dominion thereof
in the earth. He could
not lift up his voice to the clouds
that abundance of water
could cover him or send lightnings
across the sky. All Job could
do was trust in
the Lord and know that his Redeemer
liveth and in the last day, He would
behold him.
Even
if Job died and his earthly body saw
corruption, he knew he would see his
Redeemer when He
would stand on the earth in the last
days. Job had faith in spite
of the circumstances around him.
I
especially like the question which
says, "who hath put
wisdom in the inward parts, or
who hath given understanding to the
heart?" We
know it is only the Lord who can
put
true godly wisdom within a man's
soul and give revelation and
understanding to a heart.
Only
He can feed
the ravens and give assurance to men
of their daily bread.
Only He can touch the fevered
brow of a child when the Physicians
cannot reduce the fever and speak
"peace" and healing
which
comes to pass. Our Lord
can do all things as nothing is
impossible for
Him. He is our
everything and everything in life
revolves around our Lord.
He
is so great that the Nations are but
a drop in the bucket, a small dust
on the balances; the
islands are but a very small thing.
Isaiah 40: 15.
Should
we have reason to worry or
fret with a God this powerful?
We
cannot answer these questions
presented to Job, as only God knows
the answers but we can
acknowledge and think on his
wisdom, power and might as we worship
our Creator. The beauty
we behold in the heavens and earth
and earth's changes only come forth
by
the hand and power of God and his
spoken word. The
Scientists of this world
cannot answer all these questions,
except to acknowledge that only
"He" can bring forth
all
these things at his will. They
may explain man's wisdom of
the stars in the heavens or the
weather, but
only God can whisper "peace be
still" and see the
wind and waves obey his spoken
command. They
cannot explain his awesome power but
can only believe and accept that He
can do all things.
We
are also like a small child looking
upon the wonders of creation when it
comes to explaining
how God made the things of the
heavens and earth and how he keeps
everything in its proper place and
working exactly as He desires.
May
we be grateful for everything the
Lord has given us to enjoy in this
life.
There are many mysteries of life
which will one day be revealed.
Until that
day, may we acknowledge the wisdom
of God and reverence him each
day.
His ways are perfect and for each of
us, He has a divine will
and
purpose. As we listen to him
and follow his leading, He will show
us
his plan for our lives that we may
be pleasing unto the Father.
Look
upon his creation today and behold
the beauty and wisdom that it
reveals.
He
is an "Awesome God" who
reigns with all wisdom and power!
As
we reflect on his love for us, we
will be blessed and feel his
presence.
May
He be glorified today and always.

J. P.'s Inspirations |
Who causes it to rain and water
the thirsty land
And makes the sparkling dew in
dawn's early light?
Who brings out the stars and
makes the moonbeams shine,
And guides a ship at sea by
the signs in the night?
Only He can!
Who built the snow covered
mountains
The majestic plains of splendor?
Who covers the earth with a
blanket of white,
And brings forth the cold winds
of Winter?
Only He can!
Who stops the waves and water
from overflowing the land
And puts fish within the
ocean and made miles and miles of sand?
Who creates a life and
knits together each part?
Only God can create a soul and
make a beating heart.
Yes, only He can!
He can speak to the waters and
they will be still
Or cause the green grass to cover
the hills,
He brings forth trees and flowers
in beauty to behold,
He is the one.....He has riches
untold.
God is all powerful and
Father of all,
He will always be there with
you......if on his name you call,
His grace and his favor he
extends to all men,
We have the gift of his Son
Jesus, who died for all men.
"Nothing Is Impossible With God.
He can
do all
things."
