The Lord Our Shield
The Lord is a shield to us and will protect us from harm. The Scripture tells us as a shield,
he is all around us. He gives us his blessings and lifts up our head to behold his
glorious works. The handiwork of God can be seen in all creation.
We can feel his presence each day. He is in the morning breeze, the warmth of the sunlight,
and the still of the night. He is always with us on as we walk by faith and not by sight.
Believers who obey the laws of the Lord, which is his will, can expect to find themselves
confronting opposition and affliction. A believer can call upon the Lord at all times,
with confidence He will act in their behalf according to his divine purpose.
God was referred to as 'Abraham's shield' or protection, and also Israel's shield.
He is also our protecter. God is the believer's glory in the sense that his presence, communion and help
are for our greatest good in life. When we commit ourselves to the one who provides for us
and bestows glory, this results in the experience of His grace and presence that enables us
to rise above the troubles of this life. (NIV Commentary Notes)
When we earnestly call upon the Lord, we can rest assured He will sustain us and minister his grace
even as we sleep. To have the assurance that God will answer our call for help, we must be
earnestly endeavoring to live a godly life. When we belong to God, we can appeal to Him as
our protector and provider. We can look up with expectation
for the answer as we pray each new morning and know God will hear our prayers. (Psalm 5: 3)
He is Jehovah-Jireh, our Provider, who is worthy of all praise.
Give thanks today for He will keep and care for us with the greatest
love of all!

God's Glory and Protection
He gives ear to our words as He considers our thoughts
He hearkens unto the voice of our cry,
Our prayer is directed to Him as we seek his face,
Expecting his answer, as we look up to the sky.
We can come into his house in the multitude of his mercy,
And worship in 'awe' towards the King of all Kings,
He will lead us in righteousness and make our way straight,
