"PRAISE
HIM"
"For He is King of Kings and Lord of
Lords"
Blessed are they that do his commandments, that
they may have
right to the tree of life, and may enter in
through the gates
into the city. Revelation 22:14, KJV
The above Scripture is the last 'blessing' in the
Bible for those who keep the truths of the
book. Whosoever will can partake of the
water of life freely. Each person has a
right to eternal life. We are given a choice to
either receive or reject God's plan for
salvation. Keeping God's commandments
brings us great rewards. We are told if we
keep his commands, we have a right to the tree of
life. We may also enter in through the gates
into that heavenly city, New Jerusalem.
There is only one way, and He is the door through
which we must enter. Those who enter claim the
promise that the King of Kings is coming in power
to rule and reign forever.
The ways of the Lord are right and his laws are
pure. Only by keeping his commandments may
we have the right to the promised tree of
life. Jesus is our "tree of
life" and we may partake freely of all his
blessings and benefits while on earth. The old
rugged cross was also referred to as a
"tree", and the sacrifice of Jesus upon
this tree surely brought us "eternal
life". The curse of sin was bore by
Jesus as he hung upon the cross. Because he
took our sin and shame, we can have eternal life
by calling upon his name.
In the New Jerusalem described in Revelation 22,
we see the "tree of life" bearing twelve
manner of fruit, and yielding her fruit every
month. The leaves of the tree are for
the healing of the Nations who walk within.
We see many wonderful promises in this glorious
book which we can joyfully look forward to
receiving.
There will be no more curse; but the throne of God
and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants
shall serve him. And they shall see his
face; and his name shall be in their
foreheads. And there shall be no night
there, and they need no candle, neither light of
the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light; and
they shall reign for ever and ever. Rev. 22.
The conditions in the New Jerusalem will be as
before the sin of Adam and the resulting curse of
sin. All rebels will be confined to the lake
of fire which is an eternal monument of God's
wrath on sin. The heavens and earth which we
know today will be made new, passing away from one
state into another. We are told "all
things will be made new". Rev. 21: 5 tells us
"the former things of earth will be passed
away". The elements will melt
with fervant heat, be changed into
perfection and made new by the creative power of
God. He shall dwell in the midst and we
shall behold Him.
When we were made a new creation by God, "old
things also passed away and all things became as
new." The "old man" was
changed into "a new creature" which only
God can create after his attributes and spiritual
likeness. We were born of the Father through
the work of the Son and power of the Holy
Spirit. We are adopted sons and daughters
into the Family of God of which Jesus is the
"firstborn", begotten of God and first
fruits of the resurrection.
Hebrews 5: 5 tells us "So also Christ
glorified not himself to be made an High Priest;
but he that said unto him, 'thou art my Son, to
day have I begotten thee'." He,
who was in all eternity, was begotten "in the
flesh" as the only son of God. Our
spirits have already been adopted into the family
of spiritual beings because he came "in the
flesh". We received his work of
grace and
were made sons and daughters of the Most
High. All await for the adoption of the
body, to wit, the redemption of our body, which is
to come at the last trump. (Rom. 8: 23)
Because He is the first fruit of the resurrection,
we are promised we shall also be raised and
changed into his likeness at his appearing.
We know not how he shall appear, but we know we
shall be like him when He appears. ( 1 John 3: 2)
We have a promise of heaven and of a heavenly City
which shall come down from above. [Rev. 3:12] The
righteous shall "serve their God". This
is one of the promises we can look forward
to. What greater reward than to be able to
"serve our God"?
Service to Him on earth brings a promise of
serving Him in all eternity. We can take
hold of the blessed promises given unto us today,
and know one day soon we shall receive our eternal
reward. The "King really is
Coming" back to earth again. Soon and
very soon, we shall behold him in all his
glory. Blessed are they that do his
commandments, that they may have the right
to the tree of life, and may enter in through the
gates into the city. The "King of
Kings" will rule and reign forever and
ever..........Amen.
Blessings in Christ,
