Standing On The Solid Rock
On Christ the Solid Rock we must stand,
And in the storms of life we can hide,
When strong winds blow... He will hold our hand,
In the Secret Place of God... we have a place to abide.
Though trouble waters may seem to be all around
There is a place where we can stand,
Christ Jesus is the solid rock....our firm ground,
We have a sure footing and a Shepherd in this land.
He is the one who holds us up,
When we feel we are going down,
His love encircles us through every trial,
His Word speaks peace as a joyful sound.
Upon this rock we fall,
And give our everything....our all in all,
We will worship and adore,
Living in the Savior's love forevermore.

J. P.'s Inspirations
"You know how, when you were a small child, you were taught the holy Scriptures; and
it is these that make you wise to accept God's salvation by trusting in Christ Jesus."
2 Timothy 3: 15
Timothy could have easily abandoned his faith when faced with false doctrines and the
inevitable pressures of a growing ministry. The Apostle Paul was like a spiritual
Father in the faith to him and admonished him to look to his past and remember the
basic teachings he had learned of salvation and Christ which are
eternally true. He had been taught and knew Jesus, which was the most important thing of all
to look back and reflect upon.
Jesus and the message of salvation was the
solid rock or foundation of Timothy's hope and belief.
Just like Timothy, we read the news of false theories and hear
many false doctrines. We cannot allow this modern day society to distort or crowd
out the truths of God we have
learned and been taught.
We need to take time out to think and reflect on the foundations of the gospel message and our Christian
faith. This is what we have built our lives upon and will never fail.
It is important to receive the truths we hear in our Churches and fellowships
into our hearts and apply them to our lives in order to stand.
It is also of utmost importance that we teach the little ones truths of the gospel at an early age.
Timothy became a Christian not as the result of an evangelist's message, but because
his Mother and Grandmother had taught him the Scriptures and truths since his
childhood. It is also our responsibility to teach the little ones and it all
begins in the home, which is the foundation and stepping stone to learning about the Lord.
May the example of Timothy remind us of the love our own parents or others had
in teaching us as children as we remember that the cross of Calvary and Jesus
is to be the focus of our message.
The Lord is the Rock on which we stand
and this is the same foundation we learned about at an early age.
He will never change and will be with us all through our lives.
He is our Savior, Lord, and Friend.
Blessings in Christ,
