As
we walk the road in this life
There
are choices which must be made
We
must not look to the left or right
But
up to Jesus as He alone knows the way.
We
can choose to serve our Lord
And
live for him each day,
Or
choose earthly ways and pleasures,
Which
will someday fade and pass away.
The
road is straight and narrow
And
Jesus stands to point the way,
He
will always lead and guide us
If
we will take time out to pray.

There
is a day coming in the future
which is called "The Day of The
Lord." This day spoken
of
is at hand, as prophesied, but there are
multitudes of people living in the
valley of decision today.
They
cannot decide which path to take
even though God is calling them to make
a choice and
choose this day whom they will serve.
The pleasures of sin are only for a
season but
the gift of eternal lift is joy
forevermore.
The
Lord will gather the Nations together to fight
on this
day in the end time, in the valley of
Jehoshaphat, for a day of judgment.
This is a
time of harvest and the wrath of the
Lord
will be poured out. The Lord will
be the Christian's refuge and stronghold
in this day. This
has also been referred to as "the
great and terrible Day of the
Lord."
Each
person has been called to come to the
Lord, for the time of the Lord is near,
as prophesied in
the Bible. Before this day, spoken
of in Joel, the whole world needs to
make a decision
for Christ. Christians need to
take a stand and make a decision to
serve the Lord with
their whole heart before this great day.
The world needs to hear the gospel
and
turn to the Lord and we are called to
"go tell" others of his saving
grace.
May
we be part of those who respond to the
gospel call who will go forth and
proclaim the
message of the Lord. Today is the
acceptable day and year of the
Lord. Decisions today determine
what happens tomorrow as to our way of
life and following the
paths of the Lord. To decide for
God is to be alert and stir self as one
determines to
let their will be according to the will
of the Lord. When we seek
him with our whole hearts, we will find
him.
He
tells us to call upon Him and He will
show us great and mighty things which
we
know not. We are told to choose
this day whom we will serve. A
right decision means
a right path and there is only one
choice in life that leads to life
everlasting.
May
we know of a surety that we have made
our calling and election sure and
be
able to say as Job, "though he slay
me, yet will I trust in Him
but I will maintain
mine
own ways before him. He also
shall be my salvation."
Job knew the one in whom
he
trusted and was confident as he stated
his assurance before the Lord.
He remained
faithful through all of his trials and
tests and God rewarded him for
his
faithfulness. He walked out of his
valley because he had made a right
decision.
The
Apostle Paul was also confident and said
he knew "he which had begun a
good
work in him would perform it until the
day of Jesus Christ." He was
assured that
he would hold out for the Lord until the
Lord called for him, as he knew that
by
the Holy Spirit which lived within, he
could do all things as he strengthened
him.
Can
we sing as the saints of old, "I am
determined to hold out till the
end.....Jesus is with
me, on him I can depend?"
Our determination is a factor in our
decisions to stand
for the Lord or turn and go the ways of
the world. We can only stand firm
if in Jesus and
by his help. If we think we stand
on our own, we are to take heed, lest we
fall. With reliance
on the one who lives within us, we can
make it to the finished line and
glory
in the cross of Calvary. We can be
confident in the One who started a
good work
within us as he will complete it if
we submit to his will.
David
the Psalmist said, "In God we boast
all the day long, and praise thy name
forever."
Selah. He delighted in
the laws of the Lord and exalted his
name as 'high and lifted
up'. The Apostle Paul stated that
he would not boast of things without
or
beyond their measure, but according to
the measure of the rule which God hath
distributed
to him by his Spirit, a measure to reach
even unto others. His words
were,
"but God forbid that I should
glory, save in the cross of our Lord
Jesus Christ; by
whom the world is crucified unto me, and
I unto the world. He knew that he
had
forsaken the things of the world and
through the power of the cross, he could
stay
in Christ as the Lord would keep him
until that day. This should be our
testimony also
as we go forward in the Lord and seek to
do his will.
It
is our choice to make a decision to live
for Christ and proclaim our willingness
by faith. The multitudes need to
come out of the valley of decision and
choose this day whom
they will serve. He is able to
keep us from falling and to present
his children faultless
before the presence of his glory with
exceeding joy.
To
the only wise God, our Savior, be glory
and majesty, dominion and power,
both
now and ever, Amen. { Jude 24}
