THE GIVER OF LIFE

I met a man one day,
Who's eyes held so much pain;
But in His eyes I also saw love for you and me.
I could see the scars,
Where they nailed Him to the tree,
The scar on His side,
Where He died for you and me.

He took me by the hand;
I heard Him softly say,
"I've heard you every time,
that you've knelt down to pray.
So never be afraid,
you're life is in my hands,
I'll see you safly through,
till your in Heavens land."

I saw Him hanging there;
His tears of pain fall down,
I saw the pools of blood,
As it quickly stained the ground.
I heard Him cry to His Father,
"hast thou forsaken me?"
And as I stood there watching,
His blood washed over me.

He gave you the gift of everlasting life,
A life for which He died;
A life for you to take,
Don't tarry anymore,
Please don't hesitate,
Just take Him by His hand,
There's no excuse to wait.
