~ANGELS~
They are mentioned in 34 books of the Bible
for a total of some 273 times (108 in the Old
Testament and 165 in the New Testament.)
Made by God the Father through Jesus Christ in the
energy of the Holy Spirit.
They did not evolve into being, but were created
by a special act of God.! Their number, once created,
was forever fixed.
This is why they were referred to as "sons of God".
(in Gen. 6:2, 4; Job 1:6, 2:1)
The word "son" seems to mean a direct creation of
God, as Adam is called the "Son of God". (Luke 3:38)
Angels, once created, were not increased because
there is no evidence of God creating any more.
Since they do not reproduce, (Mt. 22:30) their
number is fixed. In Lk 20:36 we conclude the original
number of angels will never be more or less in number.
They are considered a company of beings- not a race.
The Bible does not specify if there are guardian
angels for each believer or if various angels on
occasion simply protect and aid their heirs of
salvation.
Also the bible does not mention gender, but we do
know that there are two male names, Michael and
Gabriel mentioned. But, I have not seen female
names, and so many of our pictures show a lovely
female with flowing wings. I have read they are
not necessarily 'beautiful' or attractive beings,
but they are made by God, according to the way
He wants them.
