An Empty Grave

They called Him names and scorned Him, at the cross-, I have heard…
Saying, if you are God, save yourself, but he answered back- not a word.
He went through the deepest sorrow; so much He chose to bear…
His mother, Mary, knew her Son, would be in God the Fathers’ care.

The grave was guarded, for fear someone would steal Him away.
But, there’s an empty grave to prove He arose, lives, and loves today.
He said a Prophet is not without honor, except in His own country…
In all other countries they honored Him, but His own could not see.

They said He’s the carpentry’s Son; that’s really all they wanted to believe.
But the lame and blind were seeking Jesus, them to receive.
There’s an empty grave there, upon a hill that says; He doth live…
All that will come to the cross- and confess Him; He'll surely forgive.

'Tis my Savior I write of; the old borrowed grave’s stone door couldn't prevail.
He arose, according to Gods’ word and took the keys from Satan and hell…
A mere stone could not hold Him; so magnificent was His holy power.
They could not have crucified Him, had it not been His chosen hour.

The thief on the cross- knew it was He, that was the Fathers’ Son…
He cried out to Jesus out of mortal fear; he knew Jesus was the one.
He died and paid for our pardon, every sin, so our soul He could save.
Thus we praise Him in all things, as we know He arose and left an empty grave.
