Lean On His Promises

LEAN ON HIS PROMISES

When doubts come into our lives,
As they will from time to time
Let us lift up our eyes to the Father
And let His love in us shine

We fail many times, but soon come back
The love is there awaiting from the Lord
Even as it did with Peter
As Jesus bade him 'come' forward

Peter's faith was strong at first
As he took that step into the sea
But as he doubted and looked down
The water around him, he thought of 'Me'.

The Lord reached down and raised him up
And reassured him that he was alright
But to Peter at this very moment
He had gone through a terrible fright

Let us learn to be more trusting
In the Lord each and every day
And lean on His wonderful promises
Let us not be a coward and vary away.
