While sitting on a lonely park bench
Her life seemed such a blur
She felt so chilled and lonely
Until He sat down by her.

He asked her what the problem was
She said she felt so alone
And told him how her mom had died
Her liveliness had turned to stone.

As they talked her smile emerged
And she felt once again abound
Telling how her life used to be,
He listened lovingly without a sound.

Then taking her hand into His
He told of the 'time for healing'
She once again will smile and dance
And will have that old time feeling.

"It just takes time", He said to her
"Always keep your memories close
Because dear one, your mom is safe
Into Heaven her soul arose."

There was a silence in the air
As the little girl looked down
His hand was punctured she could see
This brought onto her face a frown.

"What happened to your hand?" she asked
And His story was told quite clear
Of days He spent teaching on the earth
But His death, He did not fear.

He explained His name is Jesus,
He is the Begotten Son of God
No earthly death can hinder Him
And then He smiled, and gave a nod.

The little girl looked up at Him
With a smile, and so delighted
Telling Him of the stories Mom told
Of how she and God were united.

"She told me of a Heaven far away
And how Jesus lives there with God,
Someday when she would leave this earth
On golden streets she then would trod.

I couldn't understand quite all she said
And some was not really very clear
But love seemed the main subject;
And love of God must be kept near."

Jesus said:
"It was this love that took her home,
And she is now in happiness galore."
The little girl asked Jesus into her heart
And to stay there forever more.

This child even though a tender age
Found such comfort in the Lord
She understood His teachings
She now is safely in His ward.
