The Mothers of God's Children


A Mother is the guiding light
She will always lead the way
And try to lead her little ones
All through the night and day



She prays for them each evening
Asking God to show her the road
To teach and lead them home to Him
Till then she will carry the load.



She cries real tears, in each prayer
And begs God's guidance each day
To show them the pathway to heaven
....To lead them in the right way.



She nutures them and with careful eye
Watches over these children of God
The ones He placed into her care
To raise, sparing not the rod.



She does not want to harm them
Merely correct the mistakes they make
And showing love, even with firm standing
Shows God's way is the road to take



She does this showing love and care
And soon they grow up, fine and tall
Then seeing God in their daily lives
She knows she has put forth her all.



The mother ages in time you see,
Her work here is nearly done
Her reward will come in Heaven
When her race here on earth has run.
