The Fire of God

Burning, cleansing, setting free
Let your fire burn in me

Consume the chaff, skim off the dross
These worldly things I count as loss

Shine more brightly, fuel the flame
Let my heart enthrone Your Name

Be to me a wall of fire
May Your will be my desire

Purify, refine and mold
Cast my heart of purest gold

Make of me oh Holy One
An image of your precious Son

So that for you I’ll shine so bright
And with my armor fight the fight

To run the race until it’s through
And I go home at last to you
