I Woke Up This Morning

I woke up this morning
with Jesus on my mind;
I slowly opened my eyes
to see what I’d find.

Ah! The sun is shining
the dew is on the grass,
I must surrender quickly
before another moment has passed.

I must Thank my Heavenly Father
for yet another day;
I must surrender to Him
so I live it entirely His way.

I must seek His guidance
so I know exactly what to do,
I must ask for discernment
to recognize what’s true.

I must claim Exodus four and twelve
so the words I say are right,
His words always bring so much delight.

I must yield my every thought
hope and desire,
I must tell Him it’s His aspirations
for me that I too desire.

I must give God control
of my each and every limb,
seeking this day only
to bring honor and glory to Him.

I must surrender my every action
and my reactions too,
because He always knows
what’s best for me to do.

I must count my Blessings
every single one I see;
they are constant reminders of
how much God loves me.

I must share with others
what God has done,
explaining He offers them the same
through His Precious Son.

I woke up this morning
being given yet one more day;
I must through God’s grace
live it the right way!
